So colonel moore wants me to destroy the bos. Can I do the quest I could make you care with veronica first and then appoint mcnamarra as elder and resolve this peacefully? When I ask moore about a peaceful resolution she says no way?

if you appoint the new elder, then there's no peaceful option I don't think. If you keep the old elder, I heard there is a peaceful one, but I appointed the new one, so I don't know for sure.

So there's three options? I thought it was either hardin or mcnamarra and if you choose hardin there is no peaceful resolution but if you choose mcnamarra then you can go the peaceful route? Should I do the I could make you care veronica quest before I do for the republic II then since moore wants bos wiped out? I want power armor training.

There is a way to ally them. The quest does not update itself so you have to do it manually. The old Elder will have you do a series of quests. Do these quests and get a good reputation with the BoS BEFORE asking them to ally with the NCR. There is a lot of them not just from the Elder. There is also one free quest that does not show up. It's the one where you find the missing Laser Pistol for the Merchant in Scorpion Valley. Between the free quest and the Elder you should be fine with reputation.

Edit: Yes. Veronica's quests only trigger IF you take her to do the mainquest with you. If you don't they never will trigger. You can both her quests and the main

Ok so I had raul as my companion to begin with. I did the helios one quest and got the c finder and once that hapened I got the quest "I could make you care". Up to that point I had never ven talked to veronica so I think that was a bug? I have veronica and rex right now and I just retrieved the platinum chip and I'm doing some main story missions. I haven't met the bos in hidden valley yet I'm about to do that. I'm also doing for the republic part II. Moore wants me to wipre out the bos because I took care of the great khans (I helped them and I am idolized by them) and I took care of the omertas by offing big sal and the other guy. Now she said bos is the last roadblock and she said a truce is out of the question. Should I go do the bos quests, get good rep with them so they will call a truve with ncr and then report back to moore? Will this work so I can have a peaceful resolution?

Edit: oh and at what point in the bos questline will the laser pistol spawn I'm scorpion gulch or is it always there? You said its a free quest what do you mean by that?

I did the quest for Veronica, the quest for the elder already in place, and when I was asked to destroy the BoS, I just went to talk to the elder and he agreed to send dome troops to the Dam to help the NCR. You gain some infamy with NCR by doing so though.
Then Moore ask you to save the president, and if you already did it for Yes Man, then you are stuck because you cannot interract with Grant. Its a stupid bug that do not allow me to continue grrr

You do not have to do Veronica's quest or the laser quest to get a peaceful resolution with the BOS and the NCR. I left McNamara in charge and did all of the BOS quests (minus V's and the laser) and then joined the BOS (quest to do this is required). That is enough to get the alliance.
