Help with Gun Mod

Post » Sat Jun 19, 2010 3:04 am

Hey,

I am working on a really simple mod, retexturing the 32 pistol in Fallout 3. I know its basic, but I want to make it gold. I have tried everything I know and as far as I know it should work, but it doesn't. I can't really explain whats wrong so I have taken some screenshots:

In Nifskope it looks fine:

This is the structure for the textures (structure probably isn't the right word to use):

I assigned it to my gun in the GECK, in the GECK it looks like this:

Despite this, I loaded up the game to take a look, and it looks great on the floor!

But when I pick it up to use it, it looks really weird:

Does anyone have any idea as to what I am doing wrong? It is probably something very basic, sorry to waste your time.

Thanks.

I don't know exactly where the problem is but you can try this:

* Have you created the 1st person static model? If not, create it and see what happens.
* Do you have ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated! installed or have pressed the Toggle invalidation button in FOMM?

Hope this helps :)

1) Yes
2) I searched for ArchiveInvalifation Invalidated, downloaded http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 and activated it, but the problem is still here

Thanks for your help, anyway.

Sure you have texture files in the proper location? I have had it where if the texture files weren't in the Fallout 3 program folder it would do that. Shows up in NIFskope right, but then ingame it does that. That first person model looks like it is missing its texture all togther and the gun is pulling the texture off the surroundings. Really weird when it does that...
