Help with making an East Asian looking human in ESO

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 6:36 am

So, I would like one of my characters to have an East Asian look, or even a Native American look. Has anyone tried this? Is this even possible? I know there is an elven race that can work with what I'm going for, but what about a human race? Any tips? Or possible sliders?

And, please no racist comments! Thank you! ^.^

I haven't played much with the ESO character creator, but usually if you want a somewhat "Asian" look you could try going for Bretons: their eyes are slightly more "Elven" (i.e. slanted) than other races of man (at least in Skyrim).

But that's still pushing it. There's no race that even remotely looks Asian (I'm Asian myself, though I'm going to play as an Argonian so). Akaviri architecture looks very East Asian, so perhaps their race of man are Asian-esque (assuming there is one: according to Tamrielic myths they are extinct); but they've never been playable or even seen in-game.

On first sight, I thought the character creator was a bit limited incomparison to STO's, for example. But if you take your time and play with the sliders, races and skin/hair tones, there are far more options than you may think.

Don't rush, take your time and I'm sure you will find something that comes very close to what you want.

I found ESO's sliders very, very limited. There's considerably less variation between min and max than Skyrim, which itself is limited compared to Oblivion (which isn't a bad thing really... Oblivion faces were doughy at best and bladder-relaxing at worst).

Altmer and bosmer are definitely the easiest ones, Redguard might work if you want one with darker skin, though they easily become very African.

Redguards don't have to be black, their skin color goes all the way to white. Don't use elf, their eyes are all one solid color.

I'd go with Redguard and just work the sliders, you'll find something that works.

Yeah... it did. I made a light skinned Redguard and named him Pimp Dog.

Does it need to be men? Because I think its preety much easy to make asian look on a Altmer or asian anime look with a Bosmer.

Yeah, if you want them to have solid green eyes, or solid black eyes. Not all that asian looking.

I was hoping to make a human with Asian features. And, I know that we could make Elves look Asian-inspired in Skyrim. But, let me know if you have ideas for elves, though.

Well, you can't have a truly Asian-looking character because that phenotype simply doesn't exist in ESO races. Elves are as close as you will get in terms of eye structure.

I'm sure if you work the sliders (limited as they may be) you could probably make someone that looks maybe half-Asian from a Breton or something.

There are eye-shape sliders and sliders for every other asian feature. Any human should work fine.

I would say Imperial (if you got the Imperial Edition), since the skin tones are right (a little darker than most "white" races) and you can tilt the eyes up or down to your taste, and eye size and squint sliders can help - but the nose is just ALL KINDS OF WRONG for Asian - though might work well for Native American. The shortest Imperial nose is still quite long, aquiline and can become quite Roman using the nose shape slider. Many Native Americans have a hook or "beak" nose.
