Help with mod configuration

Post » Mon Jun 07, 2010 8:46 am

Might as well say a bit more :D

Remember that you only really want two map mods:
One for Tamriel - I recommend my one from one of my compilations, as you seem to like the Elven Map versions. (So not the Elsweyr ("elsewhere" ) and Bartholm ones linked.)
And another for SI - as linked above by you.

The excellent Map Marker Overhaul changes icons etc, not the map. So add that as well.

I really should look again into what one I want for lava myself.
This link might be of some interest to you:

Command Mounts eh?
I use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8766 myself, as it does the same plus saddle bags, and an interesting "own stolen horses over time" feature.

Your links are ALWAYS useful
Thanks^^

So I need ONE elven map for Tamriel and one for SI.
I have to find one wich makes see Elseweyr ( I call it "elsewhere" too  ) and Bartholm from the compilations
When I find it I'll post on the first page

Not if you add the compatibility patch to your game. Without that, TA will be incompatible with any OBSE mod that does magic by temporarily disabling the activation mouse button while in menus. I discovered it with Map Marker Overhaul, but may apply to other mods as well (my Enhanced Economy is another).

Thanks, TheNiceOne for the advice

I added TA to the Questlist and I changed the "Combat and Gameplay" session.

Just another question

Is there a mod which makes you do different things than reload after you die?

I heard about a mod like this that was Cobl-based and a http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18219. any advice on them?

Search for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28561 and Alternatives to Death, the second possibly has a word like Reloaded added to the end of the name.

-Elven Map (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3002, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16640,http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31314) + http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26389 whit map marker overhaul I still need the elven map redux?

No. You will only need that compilation map, the one for SI and Map Marker overhaul.
Map Marker overhaul adds all the icons from Redux (plus giving other options instead - I for instance prefer the coloured icons to the elven ones), and my compilations add the maps themselves. Thus everything from Redux would just be overridden anyway.
So:
SI map,
Comilation map, and
Map Market Overhaul. That's all you need. :)

-Alive Waters (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6914) [NEW]

There is another version: "more alive waters" or something like that, but I tended to have too much trouble with it, so went back to Alive Waters. ;) (and at one point I went back to removing it entirely - and HATED it  )

-Darker Mods Pack (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14118)

Possibly redundant with the Darker nights component in Weather All Natural (in the ini file, off by default) and Let there be more darkness. Except for the Kvatch fires bit.

-Realistic Enchanted Item Limits (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23847) No more one ring for hand

Wrye Bash includes a tweak to change this as well ; unlimited rings/amulets (and much more.)

Added "PiiiP" and "Alternative to death and reload" in the Overhaul list in the first post. Hope the second one is compatible with SI, otherwise I'll use the wrye's one

@Vargr: Realistic enchanted item limits makes you wear all amulets and rings you want, but if they're enchanted, you have a limit to wear them based on your Intelligence. So if you wear too many enchanted items (Armor included) you loose all your magicka, your fatigue will drain and your current health reduces by 25%. This every fixed time configurable in the ini file. I use it because it is very realistic, and I recommend it to everyone.

Awesome. Have fun!

Looking over your quest mods...

You may be interested in Aelis' quest mod delayer patches for Aesgaard one and two - keeps 1 from starting until you are a certain level, keeps 2 from starting until you are done with 1.

There is also a Heart of the Dead delayer out there, too.

Delay: I can't make wrye bash work.... Looking for tips on the official thread. In the worst case I'll install a previous version (The direct upgrade from 275 to 285 makes the program refusing to start)
EDIT: I reverted back to 275... It works fine with me.

Added Mighty Umbra to the list

@gothemasticator: I have already the patches you were talking about, very useful. I like to discover things slowly and explore a lot. Thanks for the advices
