Help with Mods

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:28 am

I'm restarting oblivion on a new machine and after a break

I'm confused about Mods. Having played Morrowind recently the Oblivion Mods seem rather "difficult" to manage (oh yes I'm a simpleton thats for sure).

I have Tamriel Non Player Races but would like a mod for player faces which is compatible. and preferably something like better bodies. not afraid of nudity but not looking for 'advlt' stuff

I would also like some clothing mods (again not X certificate stuff but some greater choice of light and medium armours for both male and female)

better wizardy stuff (like staffs which don't wiegh a ton - the kit in MW was great).

Not sure what you mean with the first one, but Improved Facial textures and Enayla's New Face Textures are excellent (see http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/totocharacter.html for those and others as well).

Robert's Male is the only male body replacer but there are several ones for females - EVE HGEC is nice and has conversions for the major mods as well.

The answer to that one would be "any".

I have Tamriels NPCs Revamped which fixes loads of faces in NPCs. I don't want to unload that because I like it. I would however like a mod which allows me to improve the player own characters features (this usually happens once right at the start but the options in vanilla are limited). Obviously the two mods have to be compatible

However if TNR has been replaced (its quite old) with something which is more compatible with a player face mod then please do tell

i do find all this BASHing and BOSSing and OMODing terryifying but if necessary I'll give it a go.

Well, if I'm reading this right, both Enayla's New Facial Textures and Improved Facial Textures are compatible with TNR, use both together as TOTO explains.

Further improvements can be made by changing hair and eyes. The two most popular packages that allow you to do this are http://www.theelderscrolls.info/?go=dlfile&fileid=215 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21104. Both mods contain far more than just beautification and you can use both together, if using RBP miss out the beauty add on bit of Cobl.

Pretty sure Cobl Races is a lighter (and slightly earlier) form of the full RBP. Unless I'm reading your post wrong, to begin with...

Sorry for hijacking the thread but since its partially discussed here, I'm interested if natural faces+ift would look well with HGEC body?

Yes, I should have spelled that out. The Cobl cosmetic stuff is a cut down version of the RBP cosmetic stuff so use only one of them (so far as the cosmetics go) the mods work fine together otherwise.

No, sorry, I was just being daft. I did misread it.

And yes, for example, I currently use Cobl (sans cosmetics) with the full RBP, and it's fine. I'm sure the reverse would also be true.
