Help with Morgiah?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 8:24 am

I am stuck on the quest to deliver a letter to the King of Worms for Morgiah. I have no save to revert to before I accepted the quest, unfortunately. I've done much searching on this forum and others and I still need some help.

The problem is that I run out of time before I reach Wayrest with the note, and the note disappears. I simply cannot make it in time no matter what method of travel I use, and I have no spells that teleport.

I have attempted to use thaw to reset the quest, but it doesn't appear to be working. I've tried dropping both notes, leaving Wayrest, saving, then running thaw and returning to Wayrest, but Morgiah still won't speak to me.

Am I using thaw correctly? I do "thaw 0 Morgiah" and I haven't seen any results. Will Morgiah speak to me immediately or do I have to wait for another note to be delivered to me?

Can your character use magic at all? The Recall spell is very easy to get. You just need enough spell points to cast it...

Once I had a similiar problem, I was in a dungeon and disased and had no way of curing it myself so I had to go to a temple to survive. But if I used fast travel I would just die so I couldn't do that. Instead I rode my horse without using fast travel, and less ingame time passed and I was able to reach a temple and survive.

So I guess you could try to ride to Wayrest without using fast travel and hope you're lucky.

If you can get to a place that has a Temple of Akatosh, you could try getting a blessing from him which lowers travel time.

Travelling from Wayrest to Scourg Barrow and back again without fast travel would take hours upon hours RL time. I would rather just restart the character if that was the only option available.Men tanken var god ;)

Well, I did it. I walked all the way to wayrest without fast travel. It worked, the letter didn't disappear, and the main quest is no longer broken.

Even with the speedcheat, it took almost two hours. Definitely not doing that again.

This very same thing happened to me when I played the game. Unfortunately I was unaware both of the speedcheat and the importance of the quest when I took it, so I've been playing a broken game for months.

But this thaw utility gives me a little hope. I'll have to dig into that sometime. :-)
