Help with new class.

I'm doing my second play through of oblivion until skyrim comes out and i need help creating a custom class.

I'm trying to make a conjurer class that mainly relies on summons to do combat while he stands in the back with a staff or somthing. I'm having trouble picking the rest of the skills besides conjuration and restoration to buff the summons.

Well Alteration, for the Feather Spell, so you can carry more loot, but can raise your levels fast. Sword (forget if there is long or short or just one) since you will be getting into Close Combat alot anyways.

Do you like to shoot arrows? So maybe Marksmanship. Also do you like to cast fireballs or ice balls or what not? Maybe Destruction as well since you seem to be going the magic route way. How about Mysticism so you can see other people behind walls or in the dark as well. Also (forget what it's called) where you make your own potions. This way you can regenerate your magicka espically if you really want to get daring and use the Antronach sign. It is a totally differnet game, but sadly no regeneration then. Might not be what you want, when in thick of a battle, but would make you want to make more potions more then.

What else do you like to do? What is your play style? Hope this helps a bit.

If you just pick 1 more school of magic, let it be Illusion. It's the strongest one anyway. You need Invisibility, Command Creature and Command Human, Frenzy....You can only have 1 summoned creature at a time. So, the extra help of Com Cre/Hum is more than handy. I started an Alt/App char, that is a Conj, from an RPing view. I chose a custom class with all the schools but Alc. I picked Blade in lieu. And went with Intel / Luck.

It was fun for a while, and still is, but having Des there to use sometimes, broke things up. That is from just Conjure, Inviso, wait...repeat....Actually, you need each school, for one reason or another. Alteration is far better than Security. You get the lock spell, plus all the shield spells for your Alt/App. And, protect spells for your summoned and horse. Myst is good for Det Life, Tele and SPELL ABSORPTION ( Yet another good one for the Alt/App, when it comes to fighting other casters ).

Relying on Conjure mostly, basically should come from a pure mage. Which is what I gather from your post. You will need a large magicka pool. So you can cast custom spells, with a strong summoned creature, for 45 - 60 secs. Then buff their Str, Blade, End, Speed or what ever, to make them even stronger. Dremora Lord is my only goto guy. I love the way he taunts the enemy.

Note that, wearing ANY armor will prevent you from casting a Command spell that will continue to work past lvl 25.

I would still take Blade, even if you are not planning to use it. Blade is always handy for a back-up.
