Help me with a opposite

Post » Tue Aug 23, 2011 4:09 am

So I want to do another playthrough with a complete opposite build. I have always been a guns person and I don't want to use energy weapons.
I really want melee but I think you lose a lot more hp using melee just because u need to get up close. But I do want to use melee and maybe explosives.

Here is all my characters builds.

Strength-6
Perception-4
Endurance-3 or 4 I think.
Charisma-8
Intelligence-6
Agility-4 or 5
Luck-7 or 8

I still want to use speech. The skills I tag at the beginning are speech, lockpick and barter or repair.
I can use some help. Thanks

I don't really know what exactly you need help with, but here is how I would have my SPECIAL for a Melee/Explosives build:

STR 7/9 With Implant and IT
PER 3/5 With Implant and IT
END 9/10 With Implant
CHR 4/6 With Implant and IT
INT 9/10 With Implant
AGL 4/6 With Implant and IT
LCK 4/7 With Implant and IT

These can also be supplemented with Early Bird too.

Though it is a matter of opinion, anyway. Some people say I don't even know how to make builds. :P

I would put Str and End at 9 (10 w/imp) and dump Per. Then spread the rest out as you want.

Just asking why such high charisma? The speech skill is great, but you can get there with just skill points. If you are going melee explosives you are going to need more strength and endurance.

S 7
P 5
E 7
C 1
I 7
A 7
L 6
I don't like doing the Max/Min thing but really charisma is still a dump stat.
It is a good build. Then you can get implants and the different body parts from OWB. You can grab all the explosive perks, and all the melee/unarmed perks. It's a really fun run through. I went legion When I did my melee/explosive character. I had a ton of fun with Thump-Thump, Mercy, Oh Baby, and Chances Knife.

Try out the golden boxing gloves and power fist variants while wearing a nice suit, sunglasses, and a greasy haircut.

Melee/Unarmed is really the same. If your gonna go full specialist in either melee or unarmed, you need both for the good perks.

Lol. I like the power fists. Chances knife is great, and if you are careful and sneaky you can get it pretty darn near the start of game.

Very true, I forgot about those crazy requirements for the perks. And nothing beats punching Deathclaws in the face. :fallout:

I think that's crazy, having them combined with different requirements. It would be better if the requirements were either or. Then you could spec a character without having to invest points in both, just to get the perks.IMO

Check The Vault. It should show the location on the map.

Do you have OWB? If so, I would like to suggest this exclusive explosives/melee build.

STR 7/8 with implant and 10 with Reinforced Spine
PER 5/6 with implant
END 8/9 with implant and 10 with atomic-valence tri-radii-oscillator
CHR 5/6 with implant
INT 6/7 with implant
AGL 5/6 with implant
LCK 4/5 with implant

If you want higher CH or INT, you can take points from PE or/and LCK.

Don't forget to take back your original heart and gain the Cardiac Arrest perk, with 8 or more END and +50% poison resistence you are already immune to poison, plus you gain 50% more in healing itens.

Yup just Google Fallout New Vegas Chances Knife. First link should be The Vault. It's a great site. And a great melee weapon.
