Help with the understanding of a word

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:25 am

Ok, so I'm from Norway and I write songs and some lyrics kinda come by themselves. And this word is one of them. It goes like this:
"Queltching down on that face"

I never gave it any thought, thought it meant to suffocate somebody or something. But when I looked it up, doesn't seem to even be a real word!

Did you meant quelch? because it is a shortening of squelch

I don't know the spelling, just the pronounciation. Quelch could very well be the real word :)

That's all I got from a google search lol - my first thought was OP made up the word, as I'd never heard of it before. Quench or squelch maybe, but I've never heard/seen "quelch" before. I can't think of any words referring to suffocation that could easily be mistaken for "quelch"

My first thought was a word that rhymes with "queltching", but it is quite rude...

Depending on the context, I reckon 'squelching' fits best (would mean, more or less, "crushing that face/head"), and you could easily have forgotten the 'S', since it is a less commonly used word.
