Can anyone help me make Skyrim more stable? It seems no matter what I try I can't get it to run for very long and it's making it very unenjoyable for me.

It will crash randomly when using the "take all" command, when opening random menus (like looking at the map, looting a container, etc), or just sometimes when walking around for no other apparent (or easily repeatable) reason. Sometimes when it crashes my latest saves won't load. I've been able to revert back to a previous save or autosave luckily, and that only happens when I save in interiors (so far) but it's troubling.

I have an i5-2500k, a 2Gb HD6970, 16Gb of ram, and am running Windows 8.1 x64 bit. All my drivers are updated.

Fixes I have already tried:

SSME, Safety load, and some ini tweaks from the Nexus (this site won't let me link to them apparently, but it's nexusmods dot com /skyrim/articles/1153/) I also thought that perhaps changing "iMinGrassSize=" to "75" might help (since I read grass density can be a big problem) but that hasn't done much. I've tried using the "pcb" console command to help clear memory and that helps when I'm running around a town but doesn't help with 90% of the crashes I experience.

I've also tried ENBoost, and while I think it helps a bit, it's given me a lot of graphic problems that make the game look significantly worse. I tried using some ini fixes for it and those have worked for most of them, but it still seems like it's overwriting some of my mod's changes. I can't link to those either since they're on the Nexus forums, but searching "ENBoost Lighting and Black Horizon Issue" will have them pop up.

I obviously have SKSE and use the Nexus Mod Manager to install the mods. BOSS doesn't show any of the mods as having dirty edits but I haven't cleaned anything with TES5edit either. I've tried googling and searching to get this resolved myself but am about to just uninstall the game and give up, so any help is much appreciated.

I usually change my timescale to 10 if that matters, and I was originally using the Skyrim HD Lite texture packs but uninstalled them thinking it would help. Unfortunately that's barely helped at all and now the game looks quite a bit worse than before. I started a new game without the HD Lite and with ENBoost and it was slightly better at first, but is now crashing just as often as before.

I'm fairly sure I've installed everything correctly, and don't have anything that conflicts (except for when there are compatibility patches) but perhaps I'm wrong. I've used BOSS to sort the load order and think I've read all of the related ReadMe's and guides for the mods and their compatibility patches.
