Which one is better to use with FCOM?

The OOO and FCOM version from a week ago or the MMM Guards and NPCs version now up?

thanks

The MMM Version should work just fine, follow the load order and bash tags suggestion once again, else will not work right..

I'd recommend the MMM - Hemingweys NPC and Guard Capes.esp. It currently adds more capes than the OOO version (though, I think, no enchanted ones) and is currently more compatible with FCOM and UOP, Knights, etc., at least until I work more on the OOO version. The MMM version requires Wyre Bash (as opposed to the OOO version), but that should not be a problem for you, Psymon (especially since you are going use Wyre Bash for FCOM in any event).

Nicely Done has usual..

I like the one one the left..The blue one..is that one the right red or burgundy color hard to tell?

The one on the right is more red than burgundy, but the final will likely be more burgundy than it is now. The red one actually looks quite a bit better in game than in the screenshot. I lost some resolution in the screenshot, which muddied the red cloth texture. However, I am thinking I will add more depth to the red texture, darken it slightly and intensify/enhance the cloth threads.

Oh my goodness! These are wonderful. I especially like the leather ones as i was thinking today of the possible types of clothing that might be in TES V since its set in the cold nordish climate of Skyrim as images of DAGGERFALL's thick fur capes and cloaks came to mind. Then i run across your stunning work and am back in 1996 trudging across frozen landscapes on my way to some horrific harsh dungeon to conquer and loot.

Thank you for the marvelous work especially for going the extra mile with the OOO,MMM versions etc. That name sure is a eye catcher :foodndrink:

You are most welcome.

Credit for the MMM version of the NPC capes esp goes to Corepc, who significantly expanded my original Hemingweys NPC Capes esp file in his MMM revision thereof. (Future versions of the main NPC capes esp file will likely include some or all of the additonal vanilla Oblivion NPC cape wearers added by Corepc ...among other things.)

At the moment I am toiling over additonal textures for version 2, which will add numerous new capes, and is likely to include several additional leather and fur capes.

Anticipation welcomes me in her comforting embrace as i hear leather and fur..leather and fur..leather and fur..leather and fur...
Thanks Hemingwey for the joy of waiting like pouring a bottle of Heinz Ketchup on to a juicy broiled hamburger :D

Outstanding quality Hemingwey. Its like looking at a 2010 version of the leather and fur capes from TES 2 DAGGERFALL. A dream come true work. The Nords of Skyrim would kill to wear these :D Thanks for the adrenaline rush :foodndrink: :trophy:

Glad you like the design...just got inspired by your zest for leather and fur... ;)

I have several more designs featuring leather, fur, teeth, feathers, claws, skins, etc. in the works...just happened that the 'Skyrim Heavy Mantle' reached the 'acceptable' stage first.

Still pondering what new twist I can do (for Corepc) on the Tribal Leather Cape...and slowwwwly fleshing out a series of "dark warlord" capes I envision for possible wear by evil boss NPC types.

Frankly, I am half fighting the urge to re-work about a third of the capes I included in version 1... :flamethrower: ...my texturing skills have improved dramatically over the first capes I made for my own characters back in August (some of which appear in version 1).

Leather strips, reinforced with hand-wrought iron plates...for decoration of course. An upper mantle of pounded iron scales. Introducing the Warlord's Scaled Mantle (for Hemingwey's Capes version 2)...available in a variety of colors, for the discriminating Warlord.

Fearil:

I chose the standard size mesh to work with because I liked it the best. However, due to the detail level of my textures (and their iconic elements, in many cases) and the fact that the textures were designed to work with standard size cape mesh, many of the designs do not work well with different size meshes -- weird and unappealing stretching/distortion of various texture elements occurs.

Having said as much, due to user requests, I might create some capes in different sizes for version 2. This involves editing different size mesh files to use the textures and then introducing them into the game through the construction set. Not a large task when one cape design is involved...but to test all 100+ capes design that will appear in version 2 using each mesh size and decide which to add...quite an undertaking.

At any rate, glad you like the warlord cape!

Hem

By the way...I don't want to mislead anyone...

The screenshots of capes from Version 2 are previews of what is coming. Version 2 has not yet been released.

Hey Hemingwey,

Good work here! :goodjob: I have a feeling v2 will be better than v1, as I can see an improvement in the capes' layout, as well as better normal maps...

I also like the armor you are wearing in most of your screenshots (make sure you have the latest version)! :D

Cheers,
PKR.

Thank you, PKR.

Means alot coming from one of my favorite modders!

In fact, making a cape to match that armor was one of my first efforts. It is included in version 1...but I am considering reworking the top metal piece. Lord's Mail deserves only the very best matching cape. :)

Take a look at the updated version (it is a couple of months old only). I've reworked the texture a bit (although most of the work was done for the meshes and the normal maps). Worth taking a look, though.

Cheers,
PKR.
PS: Means a lot to me to see that old armor is still valued by people with good taste such as yourself! ;)

Awesome Warlord Cape's,

At this rate with all the ones are you doing, I may have to expand the capes to more than just Boss types npc, but Adventurers and Smugglers has well..

nooo, just bosses makes them seem more special, and random adventurer/bandit here or there wouldn't hurt but i think the capes should stay primarily with bosses :)

PKR:

True confessions - -

...upon looking...I realized I had downloaded the recent makeover of the Armour of Morihaus and never installed the new meshes and textures. I must say, nice job!

...then I realized I had never rated Gift of Kynareth! That has been rectified. Endorsed!

I did a little tribute screenshot of Robyn wearing the new armour and submitted it for your approval. I believe it shows off the details in the cuirass rather well.

Thank you for the rating - indeed, GoK is my most underrated mod on Nexus (it fares a bit better on PES), which is funny, since I consider GoK on the same level with The Forgotten Shields (btw, you didn't like those?).

And thank you especially for the screenshot, it is the only one with the new armor, F version. I will do some cleaning on Nexus at some point. Do you mind if I upload your screenie on PES as well? I doubt I will ever be so patient/skilled and take a better shot... ;)

Cheers,
PKR.
