[relz] Hemingwey's Capes Version 2

Post » Mon Jan 17, 2011 2:21 pm

* Trademark endorses this mod *

Finally! It always annoys me that whenever I've got a new outfir for my character I can't find a matching cape. It appears that, especially when v3.0 comes, this problem will pretty much be eradicated!

Thanks, Trademark! :foodndrink:

nice new capes hem, i love the new pentagram capes :goodjob:

John123, it is support like yours that keeps me making capes as if I were some sort of demonically possessed tailor... :hehe::

I don't recall. :hehe:

I think the only difference was a texture path problem on Godwin's shield...which was fixed...but you probably have the patch for that.

Regards,

Hem

P.S. Why oh why did they have to make the male and female versions of "brown shirts" different colors of brown? I guess I will need to make a male and female mesh and texture....if the capes are to match the clothes...

The 2.0 Beta came out before 2.0 Release Version, so you are using the older version.

While I am using the alpha version which contains some of the stuff posted throughout this thread..up to a point.. :twirl: - I have around 150 Amulet or Tail varations of capes in alpha version...I still have not seen them all yet even in MMM..

Greetings:

As previously discussed, during the development of version 3.0 (and likely thereafter), I will be revising or enhancing the textures for many of the original capes, particularly those I created early in the process of teaching myself how to make textures.

Tonight I have posted a screenshot showing a comparison of version 1 and version 3 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30101-1-1283911492.jpg. I invite comment. I like the new testure much better, but beauty is often times in the eyes of the beholder....

I will be working next on the regional town guard capes (as those are the ones you see the most when you play) and, in the event I finish the rework of all the guard capes before the rest of version 3.0 is ready, I may release am interim texture upgrade pack.

Enjoy!

Regards,

Hem

I like them both, but prefer the newer version... Keep up the good work, really looking forward to v 3.0, especially the leveled list addition :goodjob:

The leveled list addition?

Let me explain and clarify...(or possibly obfuscate and bewilder  ) --

Version 3 will use custom leveled lists to add appropriate capes to bandits, vampires, marauders, conjurers, dremora and other adversaries. (In the MMM version, random cape disbursemant will likely be limited mostly to bosses, as there are alot more adversaries in MMM, than Vanilla.) A limited chance for a cape to appear on a given adversary and selection thereof from a list designed for that adversary type means that acquiring or seeing certain capes will be a matter of chance, etc. etc. There *may* be (actually, likely will be) some pre-enchanted capes in the mix (100 or so variations is my present goal), and I *may* use other means to introduce capes into the game, such as adding cape leveled lists to the contents of certain loot containers...still pondering that one.

In any event, glad ya'll like the new capes...everytime I open the CS, I suddenly have another idea for a cape....however, I am tryyyyyying to be disciplined and work on the mechanics of the mod, rather than allow myself to indulge each sudden whim to see what a new texture idea might look like. :hehe:

It's all good. I just want to see some NPCs getting your capes on, and the rare chance of finding one in a chest!

 @ John123

I suffered a power surge here and lost my post in mid-edit and you beat me to it. Too funny.

So...yes...the Hunter's Capes were an early effort of mine. In fact, the Hunter's Cape design was the second "double" or mantled cape I created (the first being the "Outland Knight's Cape," which features the Cross of Saint George).

Simpler can be better, and the Hunter's Capes have been among the most popular. However, not knowing when to leave well enough alone, I have reworked the textures and expanded the color choices from 3 to 6 (adding black, blue and brown). The preview screenshot (which also shows the original textures in the lower righthand corner) can be viewed http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30101-1-1284303060.jpg

Progress on version 3.0 is chugging along now and I can see an end in sight -- most of my current work on this mod is in the CS. Capes have been added "by hand" to over one hundred *additional* citizens/NPCs, and I am currently working on adding capes to adversaries such as necromancers, conjurers, bandits, marauders, dremora, etc. (Note that the capes will appear on adversaries somewhat at random, so, for example, not every blackbow bandit will have a cape and not every cape sported by a blackbow bandit will be a blackbow bandit cape, etc.) I plan to add some magic capes to my cape leveled lists and, perhaps, some cape leveled lists to some loot chests. Not everything I desire to do will make it into version 3.0...but there can always be a version 4. :whistling:

Look for a release in about a month (at least that is what I am currently projecting).

Hem

I looked at the robe texture and it should be very doable. I have an idea for what I would do, but it will take a little effort (have to avoid stretched and mangled runes, if possible).

I will post a screenshot if I try my hand at making a warlock cape.

Hem
