[relz] Hemingwey's Capes Version 2

Post » Mon Jan 17, 2011 9:49 am

thx Hem! cant wait for it! :celebration:

John123:

You may be waiting a bit. :hehe:

I started work on a Lost Spires-inspired warlock cape and I have a general idea of what it will look like. The template will likely be similar to my Worm Lord / Mannimarco Cape.

I have enough hours sunk into the Lost Spires Cape now that I will likely finish what I started, but I will have to come back to it after I work some more on moving version 3.0 of Hemingwey's Capes a little closer to release (then again . . . I may become inspired and finish it later tonight -- unlikely  ).

Regards,

Hem

Regards:

As discussed above, as part of version 3.0, I am upgrading or enhancing many of the original cape textures from version 1.02c.

I have posted screenshots (unaltered from the game, except for the Hemingwey's Capes logo) of two of the enhanced guard capes:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30101-2-1284652994.jpg

and

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30101-1-1284652993.jpg.

For the sake of comparison, the version 1.0 guard capes are pictured http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/29012-1-1262031470.jpg

Enjoy!

So... a few pages back...I was discussing reworking the Eagle Feather Cape... http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30101-1-1284687159.jpg are the results.

I am not sure you can tell from the screenshot...but the feathers on the original version had a normal map that was inverted...making the feathers appear to "sink in" rather than lie atop the leather cape.

Hi!

A question: After releasing v3 are you planning on making a version of your mod for Nehrim? There is some nice heraldy included to work from in it and I feel the game lacks something without capes.

You never know. :)

In order to make a mod for Nehrim I would first have to play through Nehrim, learn about the Nehrim world and how the Nehrim mod works...which I won't be doing until after finishing development of version 3.0 of Hemingwey's Capes.

However, I am pleased and humbled by your interest in seeing Hemingwey's Capes *invade* Nehrim. :foodndrink:

Okay...so...alot of folks have been asking for (and I really want to add) pre-enchanted capes that one can find as loot from chests and/or defeated adversaries.

I am working on this sort of thing for version 3.0; however, I don't want to just dump in a bunch of enchanted "uber" capes...

All I can say is I now have the utmost respect for those who can create balanced and entertaining leveled lists/loot distribution systems...

Can I go back to making textures now please? :banghead:

In all relative seriousness, creating a slew of enchants and related leveled item lists is actually quite fun, but, at the same time, tedious and time consuming... I repeatedly have had to go back and adjust my enchant values downward. The little buggers keep creeping up without me noticing (and I even created a set of rules for myself before I started)!

Glad you guys approve. :)

And now ... yet more screenshot goodness...

the original http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab11/Hemingwey/OldNine.jpg?t=1285535691

compared to the new http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30101-1-1285535884.jpg

(I am not posting shots of all the revisions...saving some for surprises...plus, I suspect my screenshot posting gets 'kinda old' for some folks. )

Enjoy!

Thanks. :)

Been working on enchanted capes and loot distribution for a week now... is almost like real work!

Version 3.0 is 'gonna' require some alpha testing before release, I think... I am a careful guy... but there is so much stuff in this new version...

Weekend kickoff screenshot...

Not long after looting a rare, enchanted War Wizard's Cape from an Ayleid dungeon boss chest...Robin happened upon the guards along the border with Anequina...wearing capes! This was a pleasant surprise (for me)...since I did not add anything directly to the Deserts of Anequina mod.

Oh...yeah....the http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab11/Hemingwey/Oblivion2010-09-3002-16-54-37.jpg?1285970745 :foodndrink:
