Here's the least you can do Crytek...

Post » Tue Dec 22, 2009 1:04 am

One week after the release of the MP demo on xbox live which gets xbox owners to decide to buy the game, release more gameplay footages and screenshots on the other 2 platforms to assure us pc and ps3 gamer. We are utterly concernd about the quality of your new game because normally when game studios show off their multi-platform games only on one specific platform, it means that platform has the best version of the game( less bug, better visual etc). You guys need to do something to prove to us that this is not the case with crysis 2(or is it). I don't think this is too much to ask but i'm sure it will work.

We do have till March, so I think something is going on in the works.

At least, if it's possible, we'd get some confirmation about any other demo's coming by. Hopefully the community managers are looking at this, cause they should know about how we're feeling.

/moved to Feedback & Support.

Things will start to ramp up over the next 2 months as we get closer to launch and we can start sharing more info/media. Noted the specifics on PC/PS3. We'll get you whatever we can ASAP :)

Great. You know 2/3 of your fans are dying for more informations. People cancel their pre-orders not because they are upset about not getting a demo, but because they lack confidence in your new game.

Finally, someone understands the real reason!

They just wanna save the best for last I presume. Besides xbox will get an early version while us PS3 and PC will get a version of the Beta or Demo that is nearly completed or basically already a finished part of the game!

Really, there should be no problem with the PC version of Crysis 2 outside of unoptimization (and really, that can be dealt with through brute force or tweaking INI files as in Crysis 1). Any weak textures will likely get fixed through texture replacement mods and effects are already guaranteed to be in.

The real mystery is the PS3 version as what you get, truly is what you get. And I believe that it is an unshowable mess right now. There is really no other reason for CryTek not to have at least DEMOED the PS3 version to the press. I can understand not releasing footage as its much easier to market when you get captures from only one version of a game. And I can understand not having a beta or a multiplayer demo for the public. But to not show it to the press, to show off how "multiplatform friendly" your engine is, causes a lot of worry.

But, hey, CryTek can prove me wrong. Id did at Quake Con when they showed off the PS3 version of Rage, and I had written that off as another crappy port. But CryTek had better do it quickly. Because the general attitude towards the PS3 version is that its crap. And it all has to do with the fact that it's a no show.

What's going on Crytek? Good to see those new trailers and sorry about the leak. Any chance we get to see some ps3 footages?

I cant see the big fuss of what platform the game is showcased and advertised on. Its the same product regardless. The only thing that will change is performance and visuals. If they showed PS3 footage and labeled it as Xbox footage you guys wouldnt notice at all.

Crytek and EA, your marketing for this game is poorly managed... Well, at least for the ps3 version.
