Hermaeus Mora: Where Does He Stand In All This?

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:50 pm

We've ventured down ever speculative option for our Dovahkiin and DB, Obviously we see that DB has quite the investment in Hermaeus Mora, but what of the Daedra lord him... itself? Will we have to face off against Hermaeus Mora, Is that even conceivable, lol? Will all this just be for his entertainment? What's our relationship going to be w/ Hermaeus Mora anyways? What's his part in all this?

Speculate away!

He doesn't stand he sloshes. being the Prince of Fate, knowledge, the future. you can make the connections to his involvement in the DLC  notice how all the Daedra nearly brown nose you when you do their quests? "I'm watching you" "I'm curious of you" "I want to have a hand in your greatness" etc etc

yeah, but he's got a Dragonborn (vintage edition) of his own. I kinda figured he's gonna back this DB more than us...

Of course he is, you "were" the best thing since sliced bread until your counterpart showed up.

Even though this still has to be considered "speculation" I think DB's been hangin' around in Apocrypha all this time.

Imagine the final showdown between Dovahkiin and the first Dragonbord on to of the Throat of the World with Paarthurnax as referee witness... That would be epic.

I'd imagine a man/mer trying to comprehend the motive's of Herma-Mora would be like an ant trying to comprehend MK's writings, with no previous knowledge of TES.

My guess is we're venturing into the Apocrypha in search of ancient knowledge pertaining to whatever this Senior DB is doing. That's Hermy's thing, right? Ancient/forbidding knowledge? Maybe even to the nature of being Dragonborn itself?

...And to be honest, I don't think we can take on a full on Daedric Prince on his home turf. Jyggalag was weakened from his returning to his true form versus the power of Hero of Kvatch turned Sheogorath.
Even in Bloodmoon, the boss fight with Hircine was only with an Aspect, the Aspect of Guile.

Not bad, but what about this one: DB was once a Dragonpriest but through Hermaeus Mora found a way to become Dragonborn w/o Akatosh's blessing or something along that range of thought- I mean, there's gotta be something that drew DB to Hermaeus Mora in the first place.

Who says the Senior DB is in league with Hermy to begin with?
For all we know WE're the ones seeking Hermy out.

Well, I don't think he has any motive in it to begin with.
Really, it looks like the Dovahkiin is accidentally pulled into Apocrphya when he reads that book.
Maybe the DB has been hanging out there, but I'm guessing that it will be more of a coincidence that you end up there.
I'm also predicting that if you speak with Mora, he'll fail to acknowledge you becoming his "Champion" or whatever and will act like you've never met.

Since we go to Apocrypha, do you think we'll meet the author of "On Oblivion" sort of like how we met Jiub?

Well it's all just speculation based on what we've seen.

The new Dragonborn wears a mask involving tentacles, the final scene shows DB with the background of Apocrypha. I mean, he's got "follower of Hermaeus Mora" written all over him in that scene. I'm thinking were sent to seek out DB to destroy him before he reaches Tamriel.

I believe he gave knowledge and power to the Dragon Priest. So we may either look for him to help us then back stab us. lol.

I did every single Daedra quest with my character, I'm sure his soul will be in limbo since they will all try to claim it which is kind of hilarious, so if Hermaus Mora wants my character's soul he'll have to take it for himself.

Eh, I have no problem doing whatever task Hermaus Mora is asking of Leon, considering Leon considers the Divines worthless in not rewarding him or failing / indifferent to protecting those who worship them.

I'm just saying, the first Dragonborn could be Hermaeus Mora's "Champion" and if we're meant to confront him/kill him... I doubt Hermaeus will be too welcoming of us. And since we're basically going to his realm "Apocrypha" what are the odds that we're going to see Hermaeus Mora up-close and personal?

I am curious how the events of Discerning the Transmundane might affect our conversations or interactions with HM. I wonder if he will remember that exchange.

You can't fully defeat a Daedric Lord to my knowledge. I would imagine Hermaeus Mora is one of the baddest Daedric Princes out there, too.

You can't defeat a Daedric Prince, especially within their realm. They are the realm, the Sheogorath/Jyggalag you spoke to in Shivering Isles was an avatar. Same thing with Mehrunes Dagon and Akatosh, those were two avatar's duking it out. The only Daedric Prince I can remember willing to fight you was Hircine in Bloodmoon, and that was just an aspect of Hircine. In his full glory he would stomp you like a bug.

Lesser Daedra, such as scamps and dremora's can only be banished back to Oblivion. They will return later on.

He probably wants you to do task(s) for him because unless you have some ungodly magick on your side, your not going to kill a Daedric Lord.

Don't know people are opposed to helping the Daedra, at least they reward you. What have the devines done for you lately, besides giving you dragonborn blood?
