"Heroes" based rp

Might I suggest, for a main plot, figuring out how to fix the status quo and returning magic to normal? Granted, a good number of the 'powered' people--the only ones really capable of fixing it--would probably be pretty content with the arrangement. But I'm sure certain disadvantages, like the not-insta-healing thing and the complete nerfing of Summerset Isle, will make themselves known throughout the story. If you go for that as a major goal, I suggest introducing a major plot element at one point that can only be fixed by magic returning to normal. The widespread death of all non-Argonians in Black Marsh, for example.

Oh, and have you mentioned what's happening about Birthsigns? Certain active powers (Moodshadow, Lover's Kiss, etc) would probably be nerfed, right? What about the passive birthsign additions, like the stat bonuses from the Steed, Warrior, or Thief? And what would happen to the Apprentice and Atronach?

Well I've never believed birthsign powers where any more than a game mechanic, so their powers where never valid In any of my RP's any ways.

As for Major Plot -- theres a few, each character can decide which plot to follow depending on who they ally themselves with, Khajiit tribes and perhaps Altmer/Bretony Theocracy would be working towards restoring the moons, while the Empire Seeks to eradicate dangerous races such as the Sload, and even that dude who never ages and always attacks the Altmer (I forgot the name of that continent/group/person) Or perhaps even reclaim summerset since the lack of magic will drastically weaken them and the legion has always been more regimental physical combat than battle mages, or the majority is.

While some people may think that sharing their powers and offering themselves up to researching organisations willingly to help restore the balance of things without moving the moons, admittedly a short term solution.

Think of this as poltical adventure in a way, its really not as story based as one would think.

I have no clue. Political RP's tend to bore me to tears. And I always have no clue as to what in [censored]'s name is going on.

Also, could someone just explain to me HOW someone in TES could have super-powers, because if you're a power Archmage, then you're a super-hero by our RL standards (you get what I'm saying).

It was just a way of explaining that theres no fixed story line its dependend on what goal your character ends up fighting for, so if one character chooses to aid the empire in stopping attempts to solve the problem with the moons that would be their major goal, if some one joined the Khajiits it would be theres etc.

That didnt make sense to me at all. But the aquirement of powers has been discussed and explained in previous posts.

Well Alchemy I think would boom. The reliance on magic has compeltely gone so they have to find alternative method's of healing/curing disease and infection. Alchemy still has a basis in chemesty and Pharmacy can be born from it, with the magical influence that was once found in Alchemy gone researchers will be pushed to develope new kinds of medecine. For example -- Anti biotics and penecillin, can be found by experimenting with certain types of fungus -- Innoculations agaisnt certain diseases can be found by using a tiny part of a lesser breed of that disease to bolster the Immune system.

The problem I see there is that most alchemical knowledge on Tamriel is reliant on the magical properties of the ingredients - there are a few exception such as the redguard's use of gunpowder, but they seems few and far between. Most chemical knowledge would be for dyes, varnishes, paints and the like rather than medicine. Alchemy is powerful enough that 'mundane' healing is basically irrelevant and probably not used at all.

Developping an effective herbalism and other chemicals medicines would take years, possibly even decades - during which the health issue would be severe. The elves would fare better with their nautral resistance. amongst humans the redguards would fare better than the rest : they have a modest natural resistance, helped by Hammerfell's dry climate.

However, the magical properties of an ingredient could be said to be imbued upon that ingredient by the Earthbones, the Et'ada who sacrificed themselves in the creation of the world. Being essentially god-created effects, then, while they would not be strong enough to be conduits (they aren't even strong enough to be released without manipulation of the ingredient physically) they would likely remain, as any magic that is 'of the gods' has, according to Solidor, remained.

So, one could say the magical properties of ingredients come from the power that seeps from the Earthbones, who hold together the very world in which they reside. There is potential for one to loop-hole in this respect as lore is not entirely specific on the origins of the magical properties of ingredients.

That would also be a fair assumption.

They would end up with the ability to shoot thunder from their finger tips, but at a hugely amplified level since their energy isn't split between different spells/schools, its all focused into that singular ability.

Ha ha ha... thunder. I realize what you meant, but I can still imagine heaps of people with awesome powers asking what that guys power is.
"Hey Joe, what power did you get?"
"The ability to make loud noises emit from my finger tips to startle small children."
[awkward pause]
"That's kind of lame..."
"Yeah..."

Anyway I would be interested in this if I could maybe be like a shapeshifter (one of the suggested powers of a previous post), or if not, I'm sure I could think of something ;)

I'll watch on eagerly...

 Sheesh, yeah. Can you imagine the poor mage who was casting a Sound spell when the Dragon Broke? Or even worse, Detect Key or Swift Swim. Might as well not even have them.

Oh, and Solidor... I started putting together a character idea for that teleporter, so I guess that means I'm officially in whenever you decide to set this up. But I'll probably need to run the physics of it by you beforehand. It's a bit complex.

As always, Solidor, your RP is...sub-par...

I am kidding. Looks like fun--don't count me in.

Kidding again. Do, please, count me in. :D

As proven by David Tennant's Doctor, there is much to be said for the capabilities of sound; particularly from a sonic screwdriver. :P
