Hex editing shouts

Post » Wed May 15, 2013 6:53 pm

Is it possible to put a shout directly onto my character via hex editing? I can do items, but I have no idea how to find the area in the wall of code to add a new shout. Can someone post a quick tutorial on how to add shouts to my toon?

Question is, why are you hex editing items when there is a command console for that? Shouts are handled just like spells, so they can be added like any other spell via console.

Because I want to learn how to do it by hex editing, its harder but more rewarding, and I find it fun. I just can't find a tut anywhere that has any info on it.

And I doubt you will find one because hex editing is pointless With Skyrim.

I don't believe you fully understand what you're asking for. Just use the console commands. A spell is a complex idea in Skyrim represented by several separate data objects. And really, most of what constitutes a SPEL or WOOP record is already documented on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes5Mod:Mod_File_Format. If you need a tutorial to understand it, you probably should not be attempting to alter your save game manually.

I know how to do it, I just don't know where to find the place to place the code.
