Hey Crysis! When will you fix your unnecessary tessellation!

LOL, electric bill. HAHAHAHAHAHA

It would be great if Crytek optimise it but I just don't think we have a hope in hell.

I'm using nvidia gtx 580 and i have fps drops in the first scene when you come outside ,(when looking away from the water).
I always wondered why , (normally i get a 40-45fps average), with all the bells and whistles on.

I get drops but it's hardly the 50% plus I got on ATI cards. Then again I got a strong cpu coupled with a 580.

I get poor-ish performance on my ATI HD 6950 with Tessellation enabled, However, I gain a LOT of FPS by setting tessellation in Catalyst Control Center to X4, I can see tessellation still but it runs much smoother.

Crysis 2 now stands next to Unigine Heaven.
like Crysis 1 before, as an benchmark, a graficreference, the hardest proof for hardware.
i think crytek wanted this.
they wont fix it.

Cevat Yerli said that they wanted Crysis 2 to scale 4 to 5 years, so the insane amount of tessellation will be irrelevant by then anyway in the game and probably in a few years hardware even.

Tessellation will probably be the new pixel shader in regard to frame-rating killing.
