Hmmm... Interesting... I like the idea, but this is also no Medieval Europe.... It is good inspiration, though.

I think it's... a giant, in Norse mythology.

Yep, pretty interesting, I guess this is where they got the "maces ignore armor" idea.

many of these weapons do seem effective. but they wouldn't be easy for the developers to work with in game, with each of them would need their own animations for the way they are used, (some even having multiple uses) and also physics applied to the flails and such.

to be honest, ive only every used swords, and this video doesnt change my mind that much.
i will try out different weapons on the playthroughs probably, but yeah, swords for me still.

the mod community can always make some weapon models if people want them, but they will probably be categorised and used by the game model in the same way the swords axes and maces or used.

It would be neat if the games would assign [to certain weapons] differing damage to condition for differing armors... Say a "Crow's Beak". With every strike it opens permanent holes in plate armor, and so IMO should reduce the protection afforded by it until the armor repaired... These holes are openings for weapons that would not normally puncture plate, but would no longer be stooped at all should they strike through an opened up hole. To me this is easily represented by an armor-class that can stop certain weapons, but be damaged directly by others (making it easier for certain weapons to score a hit).

In practice... it could mean that minor damage hits to the PC (or enemies) would open up the armor, making it easier for arrows and stabbing weapons to punch through, and do greater damage more often (until the holes are patched).

I've used falchions, estocs and clubs in the game demon's souls, bloody effective in that game! Thumbs up for them being in skyrim too, but I'm not going to cry if they are not.

I watched the Barbarian weapons episode after and I loved the look of the falcata, looks like a nice hybrid between a stabbing and chopping weapon.

But nah, i dont think it'll be in the game, would take too much development time.
