Hey guys long time no see....

I am starting to get a little bored and decided to check out things and maybe plan out some stuff for the new Fallout. ( I know I have not followed up at all on the dynamic difficulty thing but WoW has been really addicting)

Anyway I decided to take a look at my previous mods and maybe think about stuff I could do for fallout vegas when it comes out.. Man I couldn't help but think I would have very little issues with the games balance after seeing the hardcoe mode..

"Specifically, for the serious Fallout fan, New Vegas introduces a hardcoe option from the get-go, allowing them to bypass early tutorials and live a more difficult post-nuclear life. Players opting to go hardcoe will have to stave off hunger and dehydration, and will be required to visit doctors for more serious injuries. hardcoe also more harshly limits the amount of ammo one can carry, applying weight to bullets. Stimpacks won't heal instantly, but will heal over time."

Good lord.... I bet it will more closely follow the designs of FWE more than likely.... I wonder what the modding scene is going to look like when the game is heavily moded right out of the box lol..

What do other modders think about this? Are any of you planning to mod for vegas?

Hey! Welcome back.

I'll tell you the biggest thing imo that has happened since you left is the newest version of FWE... freaking amazing. As far as New Vegas goes, I'll play it vanilla, because of J.E. Sawyer. Later, I hope almost all of FWE gets ported over. Might be able to do without the Primary Needs features...

By the way, if you get any gaming time, try out Pucemoose's quest mods. He's still updating and expanding them, and they are quite good. Quest design, puzzles, riddles... And, he somehow gets across the feeling of walking through the lives of the long-dead better than FO3 does (not that FO3 was going for that, but still).

Primarily almost everything is configurable now via a menu, so you can make FWE the overhaul you want it to be :)
Also bunch of AI improvements, some new gameplay features, etc too much to list.

And yes you're right the New Vegas hardcoe mode seems somewhat inspired by FWE (which would make sense considering we had Fallout devs popping into our threads and telling us how much they love FWE :P).

And welcome back!

Hats off to you Bethesda
This is the kind of attitude modern development houses should have toward an open community like this. :)
One of the last few bastions of triple A titles with mod able content.

That menu system sounds badass btw
