Hey guys tell me what you think

I was thinking of the what the environment of the next Crytek project should be. Since they do bright, colorful, and tropical locations so well and since those locations are awesome I was thinking something modeled after Old San Juan. Here's some links

I guess you could do your own google search, it's just a beautiful place and Crytek would do it justice. What do you guys think?

Icy plains huh, well Alaska might actually be cool, arid Tundra (Antarctica-ish) and boreal forests.

I doubt the Next Crytek project will be an FPS but if it is I would rather see an entirely fictional sci-fi environment than have Crytek replicate something else which actually exists on Earth.

I already said what I want most though: A 3rd person fighting game with the option of team based gameplay, eg teamwork with grappling and holds, holds while another player pounds the opponent etc etc. Using superhuman superstrong beasts of various sizes (maybe 1 or two barbarian or warrior types if you must have human characters) and power levels so maybe there could be uneven teams so that in some game modes many smaller beasts could take on one or two larger ones.

Online MP team MP and co-op with destructable environments (I wanna see these monsters punch and throw each other through walls, , beat each other with pieces of the environment, destroy columns and bring sections of buildings down etc etc) and so on and I think that fantasy style environments (a style like the medieval scene with the falling bridge from this Cryengine demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Kvl31g77Z8 ) would be great for this.

You could have all manner of team holds and methods of subduing/incapacitating opponents team work to set up fatalities, or even co-op fatalities. Rather than this BS style that pervades the game industry of 4 players hacking away by pressing x repeatedly at a big boss for about 15 minutes as his minions occasionally distract them.

Something like the night time demo from Cryengine 3 with the medieval bridge collapsing into the water would be a perfect style of environment for that. And I'd also like to see ongoing destruction that could make the environment more dynamic and also maybe replace the old fashioned timer from games like Street Fighter 2.

As I said before Darksiders, meets Rampage, occasionally meets Predator Hunt from AVP. And of course the main thing is cool looking beasts.

How about "Celebrity kill" for an FPS lols: Venice CA, Hollywood Boulevard, Beverly Hills.

They could do it from the star maps like a GTA game but in FPS and you could start off killing real minor celebrities like the Elvis impersonator outside Kodac theatre or the street artist with the Guitar on Venice beach. You could do stuff like blow up Ripleys believe it or not with C4 for extra points and get chased by the Police.

Later on you could have missions like kill a particular celebrity either at their house or at a location like a movie premier at the Kodac, LAX airport or a shopping expedition on Rodea Drive and they would have lots of security. Maybe you could make the celebrities fight back, can you imagine Britney trying to off you with an Uzi as she escapes in her car.

Obviously there would be moral and probably also legal issues with such a game but it would be absolutely hilarious IMHO.

I thought it would be sweet if they added the 3D ocean technology and threw in surfboards just so you could screw around with it when you're not shooting people

I always thought I would be cool to make a Cryengine 3-powered Multiplayer-Sandbox-Zombie-Apocalypse game. The map would be really big, and set in a city like Los Angeles, and you wouldn't win the game until you killed the entire real population of LA. There would be a counter at the top of the screen that would count down... ALL the way from 9,900,000 (It's like an ultra-endurance match). Of course, the Cryengine would have to be heavily optomised to handle loads of Zombies onscreen at once, but it would be worth it. Hope you brought plenty of energy drinks and snacks, cause you're going to be killing Zombies for a while. =P

On a more related note, that can already be done with some custom mapping, using both the models from Crysis 1 and 2. I'm no so sure about the townsy-building things, (someone would have to create custom models) but you can really nail the tropical-city setting now; given you use both models and textures from C1 and C2 with Sandbox 3.
