Having played Medic for as long as I have, I cringe at all the piss poor medics I encounter.


I see them all the time.

BUT, most of the time, theyre just lazy and go revive every once in a while, instead of revive each player below them.


Why its like letting free XP walk by.

Well, thats good to hear, except there'll be thousands of players and very few good medics, eh who knows :toughninja:

They're still slightly hard to see (especially in white environments like Port Valdez), and by the time you reach the dead in question they might have already respawned.

As for the LMG thing, it's a good thing guns aren't class specific anymore.


Seriously that the only reason most of the medics in the bad company series seemed to play medic for.

I'm a good Medic. I plan on playing Medic or Operative (switch between the two, not strictly one or the other) when I'm online.

I learned to be a good Medic in War for Cybertron, where you get almost 0 XP for doing it.

Brink gives more bonuses for Medics healing than for anyone getting kills.

Brink is all about objectives, and one of the class-specific objectives for a Medic is "patch people up."

Don't think this will be so much of a problem here.

I mean, I can understand when theres a situation and theres a small chance of reviving your teammate, that I can understand.
But basically, yeah, "It's like letting XP walk away".
And, if your playing a medic, and dont play as your role is in the game, thats kinda like seperating salt from a french fry :banghead: Like who the F**k does that?! (NOOBS)
Anywho, I salute to all of you medics out there doing your duty! :thumbsup:

...and when i ran through the cross fire of a mortar strike and two HMGs shooting at me to revive someone across a kill-zone, they where standing with the dying body of an engineer at their feet, i hate bad medics



I was a damn good medic in Bad Company 2. It was a rewarding class to play, since you really don't get thanked too often for hiding on a building across the map with a sniper rifle. Plus the XP gains were absolutely massive if you did enough revives. I never passed up a teammate, not even when I had to sprint across the street in the ~4 second tank reload. I like playing medic, and I'll definitely play it in Brink.

Argh rambo revivers. I seem to run into medics like you a lot, think they are doing good by bringing a player back in the middle of a fire fight. There is a website and podcast that coined a term "don't revive me bro" sometimes it best to let them die.

Sorry if i sound harsh i just play a lot of battlefield and i don't like being rambo revived.

Well i think splash damage did a great thing by having the revive ability be the medic throws a syringe to a downed soldier then he chooses the right moment to come up so i think medics willl be ok in brink. They will probably try to heal you more since you wont necessarily get up and die it takes a sec to throw the syringe.

There's a lot more strategy to being a medic than just heal, heal, heal. With limitations to supplies, 8 man teams with different roles, and a variety of possible medic skills it may not always be the "right call" to heal every guy you come across.

And XP isn't there to tell players what to do, it's to reward those that choose a particular action. Walking past you isn't walking past free XP, it's a decision I'm making for my reasons.

"uhhh... he's a heavy soldier, and everyone else is almost out of ammo? Operatives aren't high priority when we're about to come under heavy fire and have NO BULLETS."

If it was me, I would revive my teammates as often as possible. And if my revive had to cooldown, I would defend them until the cooldown is over like a true war hero :gun:


Hell yeah. If you are a good medic and not someone who just wants XP to be the coolest kid in Elementary School, then it should work out fine. B)

Yeah, the way I put it was kind of bad. There are times where letting teammates die isn't really an option. It was under very dire circumstances that I revived this person. We were pinned down by a severely wounded tank while trying to flank their base. It was only thing I could do. Normally I use a little more discretion, but sometimes you really need to get your people back into the fight. They might not appreciate getting thrown back into the middle of a firefight, but at least they'll do some good for everyone else. I know what you're talking about though. One time I kept getting revived with no ammo and a medic just wouldn't let me die. I ended dying around 15 times before they killed him too and I was allowed to respawn.
