Well, as the OP said, it's worth a try.
I vould very much like mods to work properly with the game, though I understand that Bethesda has to take a hands off approach to mod I also hope they understand that mods are the main selling point for the PC version. I paid about 60 dollars for the xbox version before I decided that I wanted to come back to the modding community as I had with Morrowind and Oblivion. So I gladly shelled out 40 dollars for the PC version and the DLC's. Even if a hands off approach is taken with mods, having them in mind when making updates can't hurt.
I also think that if we at least got some sort of information about what Bethesda is doing to fix what is currently broken on the gamesas blog or something, a lot of us would be happy and shut up about it. I understand that they can't necessarily tell us everything but some information or at least full changelogs with each patch would be nice.
