normally i use bain or obmm to put mods into oblivion. however the high rez textures for HGEC come with an installer. i didnt want all the extra race options just the basics. so i started it up finished it said it installed then when i close it. another pop up comes up telling me that it may not have installed correctly and sure enough i go into the texture folder and nothing has been put in. so im wondering if this is a permission problem like my last one. or if its a compatability problem with the installer. any suggestions.
I have to give UAC permission to allow the tool to work, but the textures install right in to my textures\characters folder. I do have the install path changed to C:\Games\Oblivion\Data from C\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data.
Several times fought with this awkward installer version. A year ago found out what I need for the races I usually play(human races). Turned out - they are only 4 files! Put them as BAIN pack, use them with no hassle at all since then

This is a mod that you can't use the normal mod installation. Instead I suggest that you extract it to a folder outside of Oblivion game folder then goto the textures folder and double click on the Install.exe file to install this mod. Make your choices of what you prefer and click on Apply.
Right click and select "run as administrator" for .exe's will almost always head those problems off before they start, if you don't want to turn off UAC.
