HGEC Questions

Post » Tue Jun 01, 2010 9:11 am

I am thinking I'd like to try the HGEC model for my new character. I have some questions:

1: I have made a wood elf and would like a smaller chested model (a-c cup). But I also want an underwear model (have kids in the house and I just had to watch over my shoulder all the time when changing clothes on my exnem nvde last time around). The normal and Fighter versions both feature the chest size I want for my character, but it's saying that the underwear versions offer E-cups ... is that only E-cup for the underwear version? Or do the underwear versions offer all the cup sizes, plus E?

2 Which makes a better woodelf body? Fighter or Normal?

3. I see a lot of cute clothes and lingerie type stuff for this model, but is there any more regular leather armor for an archer/hunter type that would fit the body I want?

Thanks for your help!

There's a C-cup underwear version; it's not part of the basic HGEC packages but was done by a third party. That's all I know of.

My own opinion is that even a C-cup on a Bosmer is stretching it; they should be thin and lithe, like the female Wood Elf on one of the Morrowind Xbox loading screens. Fighter body, being bulkier than the regular body, is a step in the wrong direction.

(Please nobody post links to HGEC mods; they fall under the "advlt content" rule.)

As for clothes: I only know of a few that MIGHT be what you're looking for and I don't believe they are against the rules to post because they don't THAT much skin.

Optional cloak. Personally, I don't like the cloak much so I use it w/o. Looks great with a few different circlets http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10380 (there's even a leather headband)

Another great mod by Exnem.

Nagothm's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23678 is probably my favorite HGEC ranger-ish type armor.

My all-time favorite ranger armor is Brash's http://oblivion.brashendeavors.net/bows/ It is designed for vanilla bodies but if you are open to considering other body mods Luchaire has done a conversion for UFF called http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16927

While I'm on the subject of UFF and Luchaire, he's also done another armor I like called http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16306 I've always thought the green version of this armor with the chain mail greaves would make a great ranger armor.

Another fantastic UFF ranger armor (I like it almost as much as Brash's) is Petrovich's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17247&navtag=file/images.php?id=17247&tab=3

But, personally, if I was going to use a lot of armor that covered up most of the body anyway I wouldn't even bother with a body mod. I don't really see the point, in that case. Most of the ranger armor mods I like the most are made for the stock vanilla body anyway.

Ah, I almost forgot this mod which I recently found - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12365
Adds some decent-looking authentic bows and swords. Bosmers get a slight bonus if they equip them as well.

I agree with Dogsbody; I would rather have an A or B cup model with a lithe body. Any other suggestions? Should I try Babs body? Exnem's is a fave but just doesn't fit the Bosmer.

I see all these gear selections everyone's posted - nice! I have that Exnem leather outfit - would I be able to use that f I had an HGEC body? I thought I could only use clothes for the body mod I'm using, other than vanilla stuff which forces the body into a vanilla body.

Edit: Dante that's a cool looking sword mod. I appreciate the clothing and weapons links you all posted and I'll be trying them out.

I cobbled together a set of various underwear based on the C-Cup Underwear meshes the EVE team included in their package. It's intended as wearable but you can easily use a set of the underwear meshes to replace the body meshes instead. I included Standard and Fighter versions of the meshes in two separate .ESPs. Sadly there's no AA, A, or B-cup underwear and the one stock clothing and armor replacer for AA-cup is incomplete and most of the meshes are buggy. If there was AA underwear then I would have used that as the basis for my mod. It wasn't any real innovation on my part, just taking a mesh, duplicating it, and adding someone else's textures to it. Anyway, my mod is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25579 if you want to take a look at it.

I also recommend the High-res HGEC skin textures; I can't link that due to advlt content, but they look absolutely awesome. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i86/deadlykris/Laurel003Posing.jpg. I don't seem to have a similar picture with standard skin textures.

Well I found a body I like:

I think it fits a wood elf nicely. These images are on the Apachii Goddess store on TES posted by ryohanji...third row down right now on the user submitted ones. There's another good body shot there but it's kind of borderline and I didn't want to post it here.

Does anyone know what body this is? Also I'm wondering if the skin textures are applied (info poste by Kristoffer above). Thanks for your help.

'What body it is' doesn't matter. I'm sure it's based on HGEC, since Apachii Goddess' Store is for ExnemEC/HGEC. The body shape is included in the clothing itself. In this game(and Fallout3, too), clothing/armor doesn't work like real world. When an actor wears clothes/armor, the outfit meshes will literally replace the body meshes. So, if you're using HGEC normal B-cup, and you give your character H-cup dress, you will see your character's briast enlarged when she wears said dress.

Oh thank you for clearing that particular item up for me LFact. I actually thought it was the other way around (I think I was told as such on my first game - the person said they had a Babs body and put on Exnem clothes and it didn't work properly - clipping, etc.). Thanks so much!

Unless it is a full dress that uses only upper body slot, clipping doesn't occur. Rather, you will see messed-up body texture(namely 'nipble on thigh') when you put on a clothes/armor for body replacer A, while you're using body replacer B, due to different UV mapping.

I used to use HGEC, but switched to Roberts female for my most recent build. Very natural look, it might fit for your character as well.

Oh thanks I didn't know Roberts had a female body. I'll look into that as well.
