Hidden things, References, Just cool hard to find things!

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2010 1:49 pm

I've played Fallout 3 for hundreds of ours and love every bit of it. With New Vegas coming up I don't want to have missed anything. So if there are some cool references, hidden things, holotapes, or just awesome things to check out please tell me what it is and where to find it. Thanks everybody! :)

These aren't even nearly everything, but they're some cool places I can remember off the top of my head, as awesome locations in-game that you simply can't miss. Enjoy!

I believe there's a giant teddy bear the player can find in one of the satcom arrays. Does take some work, though.

Damn, on the top of my head I can only think of Isabella Proud's camp. Its in Takhoma Park, and it's outside the boundary of the map.

It's not really a plot twist, just a very [censored] idea the aliens had.

They thought they could take over the world with them. Pretty stupid IMO.

Theres a little town at the bottom of the map called Andale, do this: theres a garden shack that you can get into either pick the lock (need 100 lockpick skill) or pickpocket a key from somebody in the town. After you leave the shack you get a little surprise. Its better if you have the cannibal perk but its still funny in the end. :)

Its a pretty solide plan to damage the living world by killing a lot of people, before trying to take over the planet over itself. As for capturing the humans..

I once found this tent encampment somewhere on the western boundary of the map. I've been all over the Capital Wasteland, and I've probably seen everything outside of random events.

Sometimes I think that no matter how long I play this game, I'll never see all the random events.

So that's where the Victory Rifle is. I have to remember to go back to those areas where I didn't have a high enough lockpick skill the first time through.

Yes, I get a kick out of that bizarre trap. Especially the arrows directing someone to go stand on that plate to start it off. How dumb did they think people were? What bugs me about that one though is sometimes a Havok glitch will set it off when I enter the building, and there's not much I can do to stop it in time.

Guess I'll be the designated tour guide for Point Lookout:

Go to the northwestern part of the map and discover Ruzka the Wonder Bear.
Play hide and seek with Kenny.
Find the Toy Knife.

Took me forever to find A Wandering Man. He's east of Roosevelt Academy.

Take Dogmeat with you next time, he's great at finding things.

I don't like having companions, they just end up getting in the way or blowing my tactics. "I'll just place some Frag Mines and lure that Super Mutant into my trap. Oh damn, there goes Dogmeat again. So much for that idea." If I come across Dogmeat, I always leave him at my home in Megaton to keep Wadsworth company.

The Reign of Grelok game on the terminal in Hubris Comics was a pleasant discovery. Loved those type of books/games when I was younger.
