Hideous beta time and stupid captcha

Post » Sat Jan 11, 2014 8:37 am

The beta time for this weekend svckS. In typical fashion. you americans don't consider us over in europe. 6 PM EST equals 1 AM or MIDNIGHT in europe, did you think about that? No, you wanted to make sure your own people got home in time from their office desks, but instead of starting at 2 or 3 PM EST, so that Europe could get at least a couple hours in today (not all of us stays up all night) you'd rather make sure America have enough time to not miss a SINGLE minute. That is just DUMB, there is no other word for it. Sure, they might miss a few hours due to worktimes ending at 5PM or something, but that's better than europeans missing AN ENTIRE NIGHT. Seriously, reconsider this, and try to be a bit more fair for the next beta.

Second, what is up with the captcha? Puzzle? I didn't expect to be forced to do PUZZLES just to state my opinion on a pretty serious matter.

What's wrong with regular letters an numbers captcha? Did you figure it would be stimulating to do a small puzzle every log in on the forums? It's not, that's not how stimulation works, it's time consuming and pointless. Please, CHANGE IT. It's hideous. As is the beta time.

The game better be dang good, because this has been a dissapointment really early on, and that is a bad thing for EVERYONE.

Sincerly, Brobotnik.

I'm from the UK and have no problem with the beta time, you do know it's all weekend right? start playing in the morning...

ZOS are based in the US, so why the hell should they accommodate to another continent for their beta test?

This isn't a European beta, you're actually going to have a piss fit over the time being set appropriately for the region it is being held in?....

Wow, just wow.

Because this beta has people from all over the world, durrr. If you're going for making the world your consumer base, you need to treat the world rightly as well.

Nor does the location of the server trivialize the matter.

And the idea that one should just be happt he got a beta key is so extremly illogical. Bad habits should be adressed from the get-go, so they just don't become another "It's just how it is".

Nice to see vicious entitlement isn't just an American gamer trait.

I'll take a wild guess about the captcha; someone managed to find a way around the number/letter version and spam crap on the site. Puzzles might be a bit harder to get around.

Other than that, I suggest you follow the links in the information you recieved and open a support ticket. No one here can do anything about it.

Hello everyone! We’re thrilled by the excitement here over The Elder Scrolls Online beta test. To prevent beta-related threads from overwhelming the forum, let's please keep all related discussion in here. Additionally, a few reminders:

  • The Elder Scrolls Online beta test is under NDA (non-disclosure agreement); you shouldn’t be discussing details of the test in public places such as these forums, social media, streaming video, et cetera. If you’ve gotten in, it’s OK to let people know that, but you can’t say anything else about the test.
  • We have a private forum for the ESO Beta; the account information you need to log-in was sent with your beta invite.
  • If you are having trouble, or otherwise need help; you can check for solutions on our http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/, search the help section of the ESO beta forums, submit a http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask, or call customer support (details can be found in your invite). It’s very difficult for us to help if you ask here or on our social media channels, and chances are any such requests would break NDA.
  • If people post other threads about beta, or break the NDA; please let them know of their error politely and direct them to this thread. If content needs to be removed you should report it with the button found under every post.

This thread can be used to discuss publicly available information about the beta. Participants of beta can’t really say anything, but we do want to leave this open for everyone else rather than locking it as an FAQ.
