The woman sitting next to the lute playing guy looks like she has pointy ears and a striking visage! Her skin color looks goldish, but that could just be a light from the fire! But she is probably not human! :P

What do you guys think?

because her eyes are Black, I really really think thats our TRUE TO TES Woodelf sitting there, These elves are in Skyrim now, they can't afford to be the whiny pudge sticks they were in Oblivion and Morrowind, they need to be their True to lore Baddasses.

but there is a chance she's a high elf, if her eyes are black and she is a high elf, thats some pretty poor shadow on everything bit I see then :teehee:

I agree with Omega, I think it's a Wood Elf as well, the Wood Elves n Oblivion felt a lot more like gnomes or something than real elves according to tolkin lore that is which most elves are based off of.(just a personal opinion). It would be awesome to look like this. I do believe though that it is a high elf that is casting the fire spell in the dungeon though. Pause the trailer around 1:37 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Then, please explain the difference in facial structure between her and the Dunmer that is behind the bar. Remember, they said they gave each race a unique look again.

You really don't think all NPC's have the same facial structure even if they are of the same race the character creation allows for extensive modification don't forget that.

definitly not! thats not even close to a dark blue/ gray skinned dunmer with red eyes, thats a altmer, definitly, she looks bigger then the other "humans" around, maybe its here neck, or her torso and her head that are stretched, but that definitly makes her alot more into the high elf sense, since high elfs have skinny long bodys, with golden skin as we see

I thought that was a Bosmer? The skin tone and scarily black eyes strike me as more Wood Elf than Altmer. She is rather tall looking though...

They removed those modifications becuase in Oblivion, it resulted in every race to looking alike. They have already said they want to bring back the unqiueness of each race.

I don't think it's a High Elf, but I'm willing to be proved wrong as soon as we know more.
I'm not sure what race the bard is, nord maybe?

Well Morrowind was when the bosmer went from tall, thin and athletic woodsman to the short pudgy annoyances that we knew in Morrowind and Oblivion.

They never said anything about those modifications being removed, in fact I think it was Game Informer(although I'm not sure) that said they added even more extensive modifications while keeping it unique to the race. That's like saying they will take away character creation in fall out because Asians don't look like Asians when you make their nose or what have you to big. If you have a source please show it...

Because one of the most popular mods for Oblivion was TNR (Tamerial NPCs Revamped). It gave each race back their unique facial structure. Almost every major overhaul mod included it. People want unique looking races, so we want to see what Bethesda has done to get us back to that point.

Hmm, yeah that's true....it might be a high elf if they stick to the pudgy factor...though seriously. WHO'S HEARD OF A FAT ELF?! :whistling:

Actually, yes they did. Listen to the Todd Howard podcast @ GI. They removed the old method of creating your character. You'll now pick already generated noses, eyes, mouths, etc. They used the same method to create the NPCs. That way, they can have finer control over how each race turns out.

Judging from that one little scene of the Elf, Skyrim's races are going to look more like Morrowind's than Oblivion's.

Because besides this, we haven't gotten a sniff of what any race other than a Nord looks like in the new engine.

Just a few seconds before that shot, you can see what looks like a Dunmer bar maid behind the counter.

This character at the counter has actually been of greater interest to me than the sitting Mer that everybody keeps talking about. What is this barmaid? Maybe it's just due to the compression of the video, but she doesn't even seem to have a mouth. Unless it's the dark line under her chin, which looks more like a snout than a mouth. Their brow is also too overset to be that of an elf's. Aside from the hair, I'd go so far as to say that she has to be an Arena-era Argonian without scales. http://uesp.net/wiki/File:AR-Race-Argonian_Female.jpg

EDIT: Oh, or are you referring to the woman leaning on the left? :teehee:
