M'aiq welcomes you to part 3 of this series. :)

  1. Brunwulf Free-Winter
  2. M'aiq will try his hardest not to vote for Ulfric.. Elisif gets his vote! ;)
  3. Nords are so serious about beards. So many beards. M'aiq thinks they wish they had glorious manes like Khajiit.

Incoming civil war, Incoming civil war, Mayday mayday!

I'll vote but not with the poll.

1- Dragonborn, I'm serious.

2- Dragonborn again.

3- I like loincloths, you should put that on the poll.

Brunwulf is a mensch. Elisif is a bit useless but Ulfric is a sixy-voiced git, so Elisif wins because at least she might listen to good counsel, but I don't particularly think either of them should be HK/Q. Manes are awesome.

1- Balgruuf. Though Brunwulf's okay.

2- Ulfric. I can't believe Elisif is still here.

3- Manes.

1. Jarl Balgruuf the Greater, because He can no longer Lie about being a Puppet to the Empire.

2. Ulfric is the True High King!

3. I miss the front half of My Mane

Elisif beating Ulfric in a poll?

I would gladly retire from the thread, were such a day to dawn.

Great War veteran, consumnate politician, self-devoted monk of Kynareth, and single-handed reconqueror of the Reach versus a doll taught to stand straight and smile.

Stand straight, bend over, kneel. Whatever the Empire, and by extension, the Thalmor require.

1. Balgruuf. He seems like more of a politician, whereas Brunwulf seems to be more of a warrior. After a civil war, and with another war imminent, Skyrim probably needs it's king to be the former, not the latter.

2. Elisif. It would sicken me to see Ulfric on the throne, after his lust for power resulted in the deaths of thousands of his kinsmen.

3. Beards! No explanation required.

Ulfric's the only guy showing the ambition required to rule a nation non passively, so regardless of what people say about him, he seems like the obvious choice to me.

That fact that Elisif made it this far and managed to beat Vignar who was a legion commander for 30 years and a well respected senior in one of the most revered warrior factions in Tamriel kinda makes me worry a lot about people.... if the votes for her happen to be serious.

I'm actually surprised about Brunwulf. I wasn't expecting him to be doing better than Balgruuf.

I personally think that Brunwulf is a better person overall. People like to criticize Ulfric for being hot-headed when Balgruuf is very much the same. Brunwulf is at least chill.

Brunwulf, unlike Balgruuf, is not a hypocritcal thalmor boot-licker.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy. As Dovah said, he's a calm, chill fellow. But I always thought Balgruuf was more popular than him.

I'd like him a lot more if he didn't prove to be all talk in the end. Personally, I'd much rather have Balgruuf as High King than Brunwulf. Brunwulf was a soldier, yea, so that's cool, but he doesn't sound like one who can do the dirty deeds when you need to. Not anymore. Balgruuf doesn't much sound like he can either, but at least he has experience ruling.

He's not? He doesn't want Skyrim to fight them.

I think it's pretty dangerous having a pacifist on the throne when your country is under an existential threat.

Skyrim isn't under an existential threat - not as long as there is a single living Nord descended from Ysgrammor that calls it home. Also, Brunwulf is a pacifist of the "Badass" sort - He doesn't engage in pointless or glory-seeking violence, but when the cause is just and truly honorable (And his form of honor is more selfless than the bloodthirsty and destructive version the Stormcloaks want to bring back), he's pretty much unstoppable.

But the bigger point is that he's not a hypocritical blowhard like Bagruuf, who refuses to handle his duties and responsibilities as Jarl (One of said responsibilities being maintaining the sovereignty of the hold), shedding blood that is not his or sworn to his, accepting the White Gold Concordat while denying so, and getting pissy when he's called on it. (Don't get me started on how in Fanon he treats the women and dissenters/discontents in his court.)

Brunwulf isn't "All talk", either, when it comes to sitting on the Throne of Ysgrammor. He's just been hit with the reality check/wake-up call. His policies get implemented and worked into Windhelm 'after the game' - Just as the oppression in WIndhelm is delivered almost strictly through dialogue and comments, so is the path to improvement.

Negative, all that's mentioned is that he wants to do something about the situation, but can't for the Argonian's safety. That's why he's all talk. He ends up doing the same thing Ulfric did. Him having plans to change things doesn't much mean anything.

The existential threat she's referring to is the Thalmor. I will say though that he isn't a pacifist completely, as he is glad when you clear the bandits for his mission.

However, he doesn't seem like the type that would go after the Thalmor when the time comes. Only defend, which isn't good.

1. Balgruuf ultimately still wins for me but I wouldn't object to Bruunwulf

2. Elisif because I still would take her inexperience and warm heart over Ulfric

3. Manes, Skyrim has enough bearded men

I could not agree more but I will try if I can, I can not imagine someone in Skyrim I dislike more than Ulfric for a massive list and I legitimately pity Skyrim should Ulfric become King.

Well, given the options:

1. Balgruuf, Brunwulf has a city to rebuild from the mess Ulfric and his kin made of it. He's a wise leader, if a bit cautious, and he's not a pushover.

2. Elisif, since Ulfric is a dead man, even if he takes the throne. Elisif should be High Queen, and if Ulfric wins, he will only bring down the wrath of the Empire on Skyrim, securing Elisif's place as High Queen. Skyrim doesn't need futher war with the Thalmor, but peace, as long as it suits our needs, rebuild the Nord army, then march on the south. Ulfric is nothing without the Dragonborn. Ulfric is a terrible Jarl and would make a worse High King. Elisif cares for her people, Ulfric only cares for power and recreating the old Skyrim. Out with the old, in with the new. Skyrim doesn't need a war, it needs to rebuilt, it needs to prosper. When war comes to its doorstep, the Nords will break their enemy there.

3. Beards, you can't go wrong with beards! Dough, manes are nice too.

I have a vision of a prosperous Skyrim, the Grey Quarter renovated, Winterhold rebuilt, Helgen made into a fortress, prosperous trade with High Rock and Morrowind, Dragonstar under Nord rule. Death of the old life and the rise of a Nordic Empire, come the collapse of the Mede Empire. Skyrim does not need warlords and generals right now, but architects and merchants, it needs to heal before it can expand. Warriors need to rest, recruits need to train, for war is coming, but hopefuly, no just yet. When the Thalmor come, the Nords need to be ready. The Empire may be flawed, but it is already collapsing, build up Skyrim and when the Empire does collapse, become the strongest human kingdom in Tamriel. Forge an Empire.
