High-pitched audio interferance = lock up. :(

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 1:41 pm

Hey guys. I've got an issue that I've always had, but doesn't come up very often.

Whenever I'm fighting with a dagger and the dagger is hitting an enemies armor, or vise versa, if the high pitched sounds of the battle continue, I'll get this really bad static sound for a few seconds, and then the game freezes. :(

Any idea why this is happening? This ONLY happens with dagger fights with armor, as a LOT of hits are taking place causing a lot of audio due to the battle.

What kind of sound device do you have? Grab a DXDiag so we can take a look.

Well I'm running it Vanilla for starters, no mods or anything, to be clear.

I have an older RCA Professional Series Audio/Video Receiver using a Fiber-Optic cable for my audio (no HDMI Ports on the receiver) ran through Audiovox speakers (though who cares about those, lol).

I know I'm not looking at mods here, I'm looking at a hardware/software problem.

And I need to see the DXDiag so I can see what on your computer is actually processing the sound.

(Type DXDiag into the start menu search bar, let it run, then press the save all information button and post the contents here, preferably in spoiler tags)

Sorry, bro, you're out of luck. I'm running on a PS3... and I have a Mac, lol. The best I could do is record it with my phone so you could see and hear what's happening.
