[WIP] High Rock

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:55 pm

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I often groan when new WS mods begin whilst so many others are still a WIP. Nevertheless, it looks lovely and I wish you the best of luck.

Btw, I especially like the circus carriage. Might I ask who the modeller is?

Not technically new, we're essentially the same High Rock mod that's been around for the last 3-4 years, just changed hands and re-launched (that and we've made more progress than alot of the other province mods) :)

And I'm the modeler for the Circus Carriage, I loved working on it! :)

Any chance you'd be interested in taking a claim Ibsen?

The north would be the part of Tamriel i'm most curious about and in particular, High Rock. This province would seem to be the least discussed(as far as i can tell) part of Tamriel and yet it fascinates me the most. To say i'm looking forward to this would be an understatement.

I'm hoping for a very lore friendly expansion, and from what i've read about TOYB's commitment to The Elder Scrolls world i think this will be the case.

Yes we hope to stay as close to lore as possible, we've done years of research into High Rock lore, and we're very happy about what we've accomplished with our development and of our adherence to TES lore :)

Discussed not developed, no one (outside of the Old TES Games and Lore Subforum) really talks about High Rock, which is fair enough given alot of the other provinces are very alien and differnt (more interesting to talk about in general), but High Rock still has it's good points, and very interesting and obscure lore :)

Currently, I am a level 32 character, and have played upwards of 193 hours. I have explored probably around 15% of Cyrodiil and about 10% of Elsweyr. So I still have lots to explore before High Rock. But OMG! This will be the 3rd province!

You'll be able to download the Height Map, but not the resource file (the Height Map is not currently dependant on the resource file, so don't worry you'll be able to play in it fine, also nothing from the resource file is in game yet, so you're not missing out on anything).

The Height Map will be upload on TESNexus, and the resource file will be uploaded privately on a hosting site for modders use only (atleast for the first release, the second release file have the Height Map dependant on the resource file, and thusly it will be released with the Height Map).

-Edit-

Okay I've done a generation of the basic LOD data, and I'm off to sleep now, the Height Map will be hosted tommorrow morning on TESNexus for people to download and have a play around in, there won't be an ingame map with it as it's still being worked on, however should be fun to see what the Height Map looks like ingame :)

Cheers,

Great, TOYB!

I'm eager to jump into High Rock again, only to wander around its landscape. :D

Thanks for doing this!

I'm afraid I cannot, I have my modding hands full with my own project. :P

But, since you are going for High Rock, one of Daggerfall's provinces, feel free to take a look at Oblivifall's modules to see if you can take something from there.
Like the dungeon's informative messages' scripts, or the sound ambiances I designed. :)

Or take a look at the Daggerfallesque Mod List and check the modders' resources section. Most of the resources are made to be used with High Rock. ;)
