Higher damage overall?

Post » Mon Jul 07, 2014 12:08 pm

I've just reinstalled Oblivion with an FCOM setup and compared to Skyrim with Deadly Combat or a similar mod I find combat frustratingly slow paced, i.e. it takes several sword hits to even take out a mudcrab - and every single fight with a bandit takes forever. I could use the FCOM durability and damage plugin, but as that only affects melee, it will "unbalance" the game. Is there a mod with which you can control damage overall, so you can for example double the damage for everything? Perhaps Maskar's overhaul has this option?

Isn't this exactly what the difficulty slider does?

didn't we talk about this already and found out that omobs in the end worked and did exactly this?

By the way, I think your best choice is duke patrick...

if you wish to use the fcom durability plugin, you could always use the duke patrick archery plugin to balance that "way of fighting".

up to you

No, if you adjust it higher, it will make enemy damage higher but lower PC damage - and the opposite if you lower it. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Difficulty.

Yes, OMOBS has higher damage (and other tweaks) on weapons but I already have it via OOO, so that's not enough. Haven't used Duke's, but won't that still leave out magic even if I use it both for melee and bows (and I can get higher melee/bow damage via FCOM already).

Thanks, I had forgot about it. That will be perfect!

I think everything requires a bit of tweaking. Am I wrong thinking you ain't going to use Francesco? Because in that case you would have fcom archery.
I use Duke patrick archery because I do not want francesco.

Then about the magicka it is completely up to you, but I don't think that by using these two plugin you would leave out magicka to be fair. Yes, it will be weak, but there are magicka overhauls around, including one that makes you able to edit almost everything (supreme magicka).

By the way, try Kobal's balanced magic

Edit: Ah, I think that plugin made by phitt could help you greatly. I totally forgot it.

You wrote, "...so you can for example double the damage for everything?" I think this is why Supierce mentioned the difficulty slider: "double the damage for everything" sounds like you want double damage taken and double damage given. Or do you mean something else?

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Difficulty. If I double the damage the PC receives, it will cut the damage she/he deals in half. Phitt's damage multiplier is perfect:

I'm using http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/23062/?. Works well for me. Single combat usually takes 2-3 hits to end.
