I am Highly IMPRESSED

I love orcs in all their forms but couldn't play one in Oblivion since they looked so bad. The Skyrim orc looks [censored] badass!

But it's not the menu that I'm talking about, I'm talking about the quickmenu like what Oblivion had, now apparently that pauses the game also. I thought the point of a quick menu was to be quick :sadvaultboy:

It is. It allows you to quickly select a preset set of weapons/spells, without having to look through your inventory or spell list and swapping them out.

P.S. Don't confuse the quickmenu with hotkeys.

That's not something that I remember about Oblivion. Quick menu? How was it accessed?

BTW this sounds a lot like the quick menu in Planescape Torment, if I'm reading it right...

Reading the articles, it seems there are going to be multiple ways to solve a quest like in Fallout 3.

Also looking at the new pictures and rewatching the trailer, I just saw many small details I've missed before. Small ones like animation, the dog, the background, they mostly add to the atmosphere.
I don't know why, but my favourite scene became the one where a Draugr points his axe at the character and gargles something, like "get 'im" or he casts a spell, I don't know.
These small details really helps making the game a lot more lively.

I'm very impressed by the way that Orcs looks now, not like ugly green pigs anymore :D

I believe the term your looking for is "ugly green piggies".

Yes I believe thats what you meant.

Aside from the gender choice, which I'm glad is being retained, I'm very glad that the game doesn't have multiplayer. So many games these days have multiplayer slapped on when it isn't needed, it's good to know that Skyrim won't have it.

I don't think that there is anything that I am disappointed with. I mean at first I was concerned about a lot of things when the game was announced, but after understanding why they made the changes that they have, I am very happy with how everything is turning out.

Quickmenu is what "hotkeys" are called in the console version. So it would stand when they said the favorites menu would be the quickmenu, then that would be the same as was in Oblivion console version. That's just what has been pieced together from what has been said and it could be just a mistake in the info or something else. But if they are using the same terminology as they were for the console version of Oblivion, the quickmenu would be the hotkeys.

That's not something that I remember about Oblivion. Quick menu? How was it accessed?

It's accessed by the Dpad on the 360 controller and it is also the numbered hotkeys in the PC version. I still refer to it as a quickmenu. If I'm right and it is the same quick menu (hotkeys), then it's going to be annoying when the game pauses.

I can't tell if the op was sarcasm or not, but the two things that I'm really looking forward to:

-The map is a 3d rendering of the actual game world. If it updates with mods, this is great. I love how Morrowind's map actually changed if you added new landmasses with mods, while Oblivion's was a static, boring, brown drawing.
-The orcs look so much better. Reminds me of http://images.uesp.net/b/bd/Orsimer_official.jpg. Oblivion's orcs were pretty terrible imo.

I really don't mind the 3d world map unless i have to wait quite some time for it to load it up every time i want to see it. Otherwise i wouldn't really mind a pretty well drawn normal map :P

As I understand it, in Oblivion, on the console, each of the eight circles in Oblivion's hotkey menu was tied to a button on the console. That means you could hit a button and it happened. The Quickmenu, as far as I understand it, has one button to push to bring it up. You then scroll through it to find the setup you want. It doesn't have hotkeys. The PC version will, though.

This kind of too. Would be better if it didn't pause the game imo.

I'm very impressed with the detail of everything in the world and how everything seems to be much more alive.

I'd rather it didn't pause the game when selecting through menus.

I like a challenge but thats just me.
