Holy Benine Divine....

I am really loving the idea of the apple-style menus!

I can't tell if the op was sarcasm or not, but the two things that I'm really looking forward to:

-The map is a 3d rendering of the actual game world. If it updates with mods, this is great. I love how Morrowind's map actually changed if you added new landmasses with mods, while Oblivion's was a static, boring, brown drawing.
-The orcs look so much better. Reminds me of http://images.uesp.net/b/bd/Orsimer_official.jpg. Oblivion's orcs were pretty terrible imo.

when you leave a dark place and enter somewhere light, you will be a bit blinded by the light for a sec. it also works the other way around, so if you enter a dark place, your eyes need to get used t the darkness before you can see everything clear. cool detail!
(from another post i made earlier). thats a really impressing detail if you ask me!

also the orc/khajit looks great, fishes in the river, working inhabitants and the fact that you can do the same.
and probably alot more i cant remember right now

I am happy with all the changes with Skyrim EXCEPT the new favorites menu. I find it very disappointing that it pauses the game when you open the favorites menu.

From what I understand the map is a 3d representation of the world, not an actual birdseye view. It's better that way so it won't spoil hidden locations.

Resident Evil style observe object for clues sound interesting.

im impressed at how savage orcs look now i can only imagine how awesome i can make my orc look :)
and the khajiit oh dont get me started they look cunning agile and over all more fierce than ever. the one thing they need to make them 100% perfect is give the khajiit retractable claws. there already incredibly close to how i imagined they should be. giving them retractable claws would give them that last 5% to make them perfect in my eyes. all i need to see now is how they have re done the argonians i bet they are going to look just plain stellar

A point to equipping two healing spells, and combing them, if this is the same for all the schools, very impressed.

I'm liking the improved graphics, the look of Khajiits and Orcs, all the nice little immersion things added.

I have to admit I'm skeptical with the removal of the class sytem and attributes. The new system will probably work fine, but I'm honestly unsure.

Impressed, hmm draw distance looks impressive for a console and the whole artstyle is crazy pretty with a magic atmosphere , i hope is a long game with a lot of exploration and that the loot is worth something like in Morrowind :foodndrink:

I can get used to a realtime menu, but I honestly don't prefer them. A menu is an out of game activity, and should have no relation to in game events. As a player I should be able to read the menu indefinitely if I choose, and not be interrupted. However... I can easily accept a realtime inventory, as it makes sense that the PC would be rummaging his pack, and could be surprised.

**Edit As was said already... the Spiders are really cool looking; I know of more than a few fans that might not play at all because of them.

Is this thread on the menus or the Orc? Either way I like both.

This kind of too. Would be better if it didn't pause the game imo.

I'm very impressed with the detail of everything in the world and how everything seems to be much more alive.

I believe it is that way for other spells too.

But it's not the menu that I'm talking about, I'm talking about the quickmenu like what Oblivion had, now apparently that pauses the game also. I thought the point of a quick menu was to be quick :sadvaultboy:

I have only played 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion', but I never once through my many play-throughs played as an Orc or Khajiit. In fact I have never played as an Altmer, Redguard or a Breton so I probably missed out on an few interesting play-throughs. But instead I played multiple times as an Argonian, a Nord, Imperial, Bosmer etc.

Enough with the ramblings. I am impressed with:

? Dual Wielding, although I have not seen any footage or screenshots.
? The ability to 'wield' magic in one or both hands
? The ability to 'wield' magic in conjunction with a weapon
? The graphics actually look amazing. I don't see the entire 'hoo-haa' about Crysis being the best...Skyrim seems to be on par if not better in terms of environment graphics and textures.
? The huge improvement to Orcs and Khajiits visually. I plan to play as a Nord first, naturally, but I will probably push Orc or Khajiit to my number #2 character.
? The 3D map and supposed interactivity.
? The fact that so many more dedicated dungeon designers were on the team.

In fact, I am not going to waste my time listing. Everything seems good.

After the disappointment that Dragon Age II was, I can hardly wait for Skyrim. Good thing is the Witcher 2 will be released shortly. That seems graphically amazing too.
