Hilarious AI

I just finished Sanguine's quest. For some reason I had never bothered to do it before.

I cast the spell, instantly got a 200g bounty on my head, but wasn't arrested. Instead a naked and stoned Countess Leyawiin must have accidently punched one of the guests as the guards rushed in to fill her with arrows. The next day someone had apparently bothered to drag her still naked body right in front of the castle gate and everyone in the castle regarded me with max disposition.

This sounds like a mod. The Countess is flagged as essential.

Not to mention you can't drag bodies out of cells, so I'm not sure how any of that is even possible.

I figured the spell was considered an attack. I dealt with it by teleporting out and running to get my bounty lifted before the troops caught me.

I think if you do it right, they don't know you did it.

It's not, it's vanilla. My questlog had already updated and as I had already done the Thieves Guild quest, she was no longer essential even though the quest for Sanguine was still in progress.

The door from the castle reception hall and main hall to the dining room is a "wooden door" so it's the same cell. She died in the dining room and her body was dragged all the way to the reception hall, right in front of the main gate, but still in the same cell.

Correct, though I wonder what you mean by "teleporting" in Oblivion?

I think the countess has her essential flag removed after Ahdarji's heirloom

It's been a while. I thought I used a spell to zip someplace, or was mark/recall taken from Oblivion? I get some things confused.

Oh, "in front of the main gate" made me think it was outside of the castle. Nevermind then. :P

You just need 100% chameleon. Not with enchantments because those are removed. But you can get 100% chameleon with spells and potions.

NPCs don't drag NPCs. Also it's difficult to see how the Countess could have attacked a guest, but I guess that might be possible somehow.

You are correct. Verified in the CS. My bad... :P

The "Main Gate" part had me confused more than anything. But yeah, that's Radiant AI for you. Seen many strange things like this.

The correct term I believe is fast-travel :)

Yeah the countess loses her essential tag after the Thieves Guild quest so it's better to do Sanguine's quest 1st, although I don't think you can fail it by her dying during the Stark Reality spell.

I failed that quest because long before I even started it the countess got killed in a brawl at the chapel.
