[BETA/RELZ] Hilgya the Seamstress Expansion

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:23 pm

All right, I've finally got the chance to actually test this, and I have the following issues:

The following textures seem to be missing:
pl_mcoat_sleeves_glow_br.dds
pl_mcoat_jacket_glow_br.dds
pl_mcoat_sleeves_glow_k.dds
pl_mcoat_jacket_glow_k.dds

I don't think I see http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/2479/expansion11kp1.png outfit at all? Did you drop it from the final release?

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/246/expansion8cz4.png pants don't seem to be in Talith's inventory, though I found the nif file and it worked just fine.

The green crushed velvet coat turned into the green brocade coat when I put it on.

The red Winter Monarch robe has a blue icon.

None of the other male clothes have a problem. I don't have a female character with enough moolah to check the female inventory though.

EDIT: some of these seem to be from the original release, I'll go check that.

I just ran into a small problem with the black lace dress; when I put it on, the groin part of my (female) character disappears, although all the rest of the dress and body show up fine. I'm using just the standard Better Bodies, and I took everything else off my character to make sure it wasn't a conflict.

Any ideas?

Edit: On a closer look at the screenshots, it appears I don't have the cape or the boots for the velvet and lace dress in the store at all. I'm not sure what else I'm missing, but I know I got all the files posted on PES as of the last update.

Thank you for sharing this, Plangkye, and for all the work to catch the wrinkles. :goodjob:

One question, if you could clarify please...

The Planet Elder Scrolls description has it as v.1.1 whilst the TESNexus description still calls it a beta although the download file name there is now hilgya_exp1-21528.rar and the enclosed readme seems to indicate a mod now out of beta, though it does not say v.1.1.

So, is the TESNexus download a complete v.1.1 or do I need to add the missing_files.7z download from Planet Elder Scrolls?

Oh dear, bugs to fix. I'll take a look at those.

EDIT: Turns out I'd just forgotten to put those missing clothes into the shop inventory - they were present in the mod, just not in the actual world. Doh! As for the black lace dress, the 'inside' part of the dress was accidentally pointing to the wrong model, hence it being invisible. It's fixed now. I'm updating the PES download as we speak, and after that I'll fix up the TES Nexus download. Ronin, the TES Nexus download is indeed complete - the missing files got left off of PES because I had to split up the archive there and I missed them; since TES Nexus allows much bigger files it wasn't an issue there. However, it'll still be worth downloading over again, since I have to update the .esp to fix those bugs Lyssia and MoonstalkerZ reported.

Ah, thank you for updating it so fast! I'm glad it turned out to be a relatively simple thing.

Edit: A very dumb question. On PES, I know I need to re-download the "other" file for the new .esp; does that also have the black lace dress fix, or do I need to download one of the textures or mesh files again as well?

You only need the "other" file. The textures for the missing dress parts were already in whichever of the texture archives they were in; fixing it was only a question of re-pointing the body part so it was seeing the right mesh.

Thanks for your attention to this, Plangke.

I will get the TESNexus file again when it updates.

I've updated the PES entry for the original Hilgya the Seamstress as well, to fix the problems MoonstalkerZ found in it (except the blue icon for the red robe; I don't know how that was happening). I'll get the TES Nexus entries in a minute.

Love this mod- do you think I would break it if I attempted to merge these expansions into your old esp version? The esm makes Julan crash I think because he doesn't like anything loading before him. Or if any friendly modders out there know how I could change the esm back into an esp, and combine that with this one, or is that probably too advanced for my skills? Not to be a bother, if this is something simple I'll gladly search for tutorials on my own, but it seems to me that esm into esp might be tricky. Anyway, I lovec your original work and am drooling over this edition- masterful texturing and meshes, great style that fits into the game very well. Other clothing mods just pale in comparison...

Just a note (sorry to hijack thread, do take any further discussion to PM or my Julan thread!) that if you need to keep Julan's load order the same while adding a new .esm, one thing you could try is moving a different mod that previously loaded above Julan to go below him, at the same time as you add the new .esm. That way Julan will still have the same number of mods loading ahead of him, which is the important part. Choose a "safe" mod to move, like a simple tweak or something, just to be safest.

Does that make sense at all?

Sounds good to me- thread hijacking now finished, please proceed with regularly scheduled programming :P Now that I know how to resolve this issue, I'm off to do some serious shopping. Love the mod!

A huge kick i know. Sorry for that. But i have a question about the mod and it seems like this is the only thread about the hilgya mod.
I have a question about the location. Since the shop is set in Dagon Fel i wonder where in Dagon Fel it is set, as there are also 2 other clothing mods being added there. Metal Queen Boutique from CanadianIce is also in Dagon Fel (added near the water) and the Silk Wraps from Korana adds also a shop in Dagon Fel, on the right from End of the World Inn (near the fork from 2 roads)
At the moment i use both MQB and the Silk Wraps. So where is the shop from Hilgya placed?

From getting off the boat, walk straight, you'll see a new tall building on your left, behind another building (perhaps a wall too).

for clraification: Behind house #12, in Arkngt's pic.

Yep, next to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:MW_Map_DagonFel.jpg (sort of between it and the wall).

Ah, so it's in the western section of the village (as seing from the boat platform), in the direction to sorkvild's tower.
Then it would not invalidate with both MQB and silk wraps. MQB is set next to Onmi Hard-Mouth's house, a bit in the water. And silk wraps is right across Greidil Half-Troll's House.
Good news :) Off to download and install :P

Thread seems not be very active. Oh well.
Anyway, since last time i've downloaded everything, installed it and then take the long road to dagon fel. Everything works fine. The clothing are very well done, excellent job.
The shop itself is not hard to find. It's just a bit on a hill next to the end of the world. You already see it as soon as you enter the village from the boat.
There is only one minor issue in the shop itself. When you enter the shop you end up on the stairs, instead of just in front of the door.
But for the rest everything works fine, there's even no clipping. And it works with both MQB and silk wraps. I even installed andromache later and it still works.
Are there any plans for a second expansion? :D

Probably a bit late for a reply... This is a great mod, I love the clothes. But, it would be really nice if you would generate mipmaps for the textures. If you don't, then depending on how your video card is set, the textures look way too harsh and have an ugly sparkling effect when seen from a distance. I wound up doing it myself in Gimp, just opened and re-saved the textures with DXT1 compression enabled and "generate mipmaps" checked. It makes a huge difference in the visual quality of your mod.

Otherwise, 10/10.
