Hill 149: The Lucky 13th "Suffer until death"

At 0600 hours, July 2nd, 2277. 13th Company of the 33rd Battalion, gave their last breath to defend the position from the Legion. Unfortunately, and regrettably, they fell side-by-side, down to the last man and woman. Yet they did not go willingly, from their deployment to Hill 149 and the months on the Legion constantly probed the area. The 13th dealt upon the Legion numerous casualties before the events of July 2nd. They did what the New California Republic asks of its soldiers, they held the line. Even when the odds were against them, they held the line.

The story of the 13th Company is not a defeat, they stood before the might of Caesar and refused to budge. Their courage is a inspiration, their story is proof of the ability, and strength of the men and women of the New California Republic.
The Legion may bear down upon Hoover Dam but with each fallen trooper we shall take ten of their in vengeance. Remember the bravery and defiance of the 13th Company, let their story drive you onwards as we drive Caesar back to the gates of hell.

General Lee Olivier.

Hill 149 is a survival military life role-playing game. Set around the events of Hill 49, which the soldiers of the 13th Company (The Lucky 13th) held the Hill and the surrounding area for a total of four months despite regular assaults made by Caesar's Legion, hostile locals and lack of supplies. So where do you come into this? You are a soldier! One of the Lucky 13th, a raw recruit on your first tour of duty in the Mojave Wasteland. Hill 149 is a strong point, a defence position and observation post to control the area and keep supplies running through the town of Cove to other positions of NCR interest.

So let me lay down a few things;

  • The game is set BEFORE the First Battle of Hoover Dam, so no references to that or any events relating to the courier, none of these things have came to pass.
  • You can, and to be blunt, will die in this game. Some characters will be killed before the last defence who are selected randomly at random moments. But you are allowed up to three characters.
  • Even though is the military you still got a life, so expect to be given the task of cleaning the latrines and digging fox holes but don't worry you'll all get your action.
  • Follow the class chart below for the weapon set up, no plasma rifles or multi-las guns.
  • Everyone will be in the same platoon which is overseen by two players, the second lieutenant with his subordinate a Sergeant First Class. Since my character has to oversee each platoon stationed on Hill 149, the 2LT will be in charge, with the SFC acting as his second. Which basically means the 2LT is a co-gm. So expect your orders to come from them when I'm not around.

The Rules:

  • My word and my co-GM's word is law! Overall! In the game your officers word is law, act out of line they can punish you how they see fit unless I have to step in.
  • A paragraph for each post = five sentences. Quoted objects do not count towards the paragraph.
  • A good grasp of the English language is also preferred. Not asking you to be a pro with the written word, just so it's readable and makes sense for the reader.
  • If you have a idea for a interaction with another character PM each other!
  • No character controlling!
  • Question? Take it to the OCC thread.
  • Romance is okay. With the NCR Army being a unisix force it's somewhat expected. But nothing too blue.
  • PM ALL SHEETS TO ME!
  • Finally have fun!

cool but i have a qeustion: can Non - captains & normal soldiers have Non-strandard issue equipement or weapons, Nothing over the Top but like Machete for a Legion trooper

edit: shoudln;t all troopers also have a combat knife? Cause i'm not sure how a Bayonet would fit on a light-machine gun?

The bayonet is multi-purpose and only the Service Rifle can have a Bayonet attached to the barrel. And no, you can win one a machete war trophy, but at the moment no. Other Melee items such as knuckle dusters and the like are allowed however.
