Hint/Help for a Quest

Post » Tue Nov 16, 2010 10:36 pm

Hey folks.

I'm currently on my second playthrough of NV, and I've decided to side with Caesar this time through. I've just dealt with Benny (killed that foo'), and I recieved two messages once I left The Tops, one from a Legion, declaring that I should have the mark of Caesar and any crimes towards them are dropped, and then one from the NCR declaring they need help.

I followed up on the Caesar quest, Render Unto Caesar. I travelled to Cottonwood Cove to take the barge up the river, but before I do that, I'm just piled with Legion attacking me. I for some reason can't equip the Mark so that isn't helping, is it because I have followers? Because I put on Legion armour, I wasn't noticed, then my followers just attacked and were attacked by the Legion.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

The mark is just carried in your inventory - you don't wear or equip it.

Here's the wiki link: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Render_Unto_Caesar

There is a mention of this issue, but I don't know if it matches the circumstances you're experiencing:

The timing of this quest and "The House Always Wins I" can be tricky. If you speak to House again after getting this quest and advance "The House Always Wins I." You will find your Caesar's Legion neutrality voided (even though you still have the Mark of Caesar.) Cursor Lucullus (the Ferryman) will be hostile as well as all the troops at the fort. If you return to House and give him the chip without having used it to first open the bunker; and without killing Caesar and the troops at the fort, Mr. House's dialog will not have the branch allowing you to take up his challenge to return to the fort with the chip.

If this is the case, you'll probably need to revert to an earlier save before you received the mark.

Did your follower happen to be Boone?

He doesn't, *ahem*, see eye to eye with the Legion :whistling:

Same happened to me, but thats because Boone killed half of Nelson while I made a dash to the abandoned BoS bunker. So I just went to the Fort and killed everybody.
Oh and if you have Boone, tell him to go away and the Legion shouldn't be hostile.
