History of Markarth and Old Hroldan

I am making an Old Hroldan town for Skyrim, right next to the Old Hroldan Inn (The Hanging Man) that I have already revamped.

The area is seeped in blood and history....problem is I can't find much on it. A google search did not provide much info. I want my haunted town to tie in with the lore and history of the area. So far all I can find is references that Tiber Septim stayed at the inn. Also that Ulfric Stormcloak freed Markarth from the Forsworn.

What I am attempting to do is really tie in with Tiber Septims visit, why the Inn is called the Hanging Man (which it is in the CK) and the effect of the Forsworn on Old Hroldan.

In my town I placed a tree in the center, I want this to be where Hjalti hung the defeated Reachman soldiers and that is why the Inn is called 'The Hanging Man' (in the CK). Unless....anyone else has any other idea why the Inn is named that?

I guess I need parts of an old broken down ancient wall around the town that Hjalti (Tiber Septim) destroyed with his Thu'um.

I think I read somewhere that Ulfric regained Markarth from the Forsworn....when? I need my town to have been taken over by the Forsworn back then and liberated by Ulfric at the same time he liberated Markarth. But the townspeople had been massacred by the Forsworn and the town left empty and derelict...before my current day mixture of races moved in to find a haven from the racism in the big cities. My town will have Argonians, Khajit, Dunmer, Nords, Altmer etc....

Anyone got a timeline for all the events at Old Hroldan?

At some point an army of Reachmen were there.

At some point Tiber Septim defeated them.

At some point the Forsworn took over the area.

At some point Ulfric defeated them.

I am quite confused on the lore of this area?

Who built Old Hroldan? When? Ol Hroldan is a place seeped in history and I want to give it that rich history in the mod.
