History of the Fallout Series

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 4:16 am

I saw this a few days ago, and assumed that I would see it here (but I never did). I searched the forums for the link and did not find it, so I am posting it now.

Here is an interesting telling of the history of the series (in an 8 page article). http://retro.ign.com/articles/948/948937p1.html

For most I am including additional links to the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laq9ua5VjTs&feature=PlayList&p=E9CC894AB428A9C8&index=1&playnext=2 done on Matt Chat. (Many have already seen these, but they are cool to watch twice :))

I suppose that this thread can serve for discussion of the article (or the interview). Questions & opinions...

Thank you. That should be required viewing for anybody that's into fallout.

I finished reading it. It is a pretty good article explaining how Fallout came to be, how many times the titles changed hands, and who exactly did what.
Very Interesting read.

Thanks for posting that article. Brings back alot of memories. I remember playing GURPS all the time with my friends, and how hyped up I was for the computer version of it to come out. And how disappointed I was when it became Fallout. I know. I was a GURPS elitist snob. So I never bought Fallout 1 when it came out. A friend of mine did, and kept telling me how much he liked it, but I thought he was full of it. Then my computer died. If I remember right, I got into "Magic: the Gathering", and spent so much money on that stupid game I could have bought a killer computer with it. I finally saw the light long after Fallout 2 was out, and by then I had a new computer. Got Fallout 2 and fell in love.

Favorite quote (from the article): "And suddenly, Fallout Tactics didn't seem so bad".
