Hit detection off?

Dear morrowind vets,

I've come to this game off of oblivion, and so far, I do like it. Not as much as oblivion, but it is still good.

My MAIN problem with it is the damn hit detection! Is it supposed to be hard? I mean, I have a sword, a shield and a warhammer, and neither of the two weapons ever hit!

It's a major problem that has pretty much rendered the game unplayable, and I don't know if it is meant to be this way or if I've done something wrong.

As a test, I set all my combat skills(not strength) to 1000, to see if my skill was too low, and it just did nothing.

Then I went and downloaded http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23746 mod, and still nothing.

Sincerely, a concerned citizen.

PS: Are the guards supposed to be that hard :D

PSS: Is the guy who comes and tells you that Dagoth Ur is coming for you supposed to be that untouchable :D

okay, in morrowind the combat is craeted around dice rolls. If you have a long blade skill of 5 and you try and use a long blade you will never hit anything. It will need to be at least 40, if you want ot use a weapon from that skill....higher as the enemies get better and can 'dodge' better.

You should sink a few attribute points into luck as wekk, it will improve your chances of hitting slightly with every weapon.

Keep an eye on that fatigue bar. If it's too low, your accuracy will drop to abysmal levels.
