Hit max level too soon

Post » Sat Nov 02, 2013 12:52 am

I'm guessing I'm 1/2 to 2/3 through the game. Collecting eggs for Red Lucy, doing all side quests. Anyway, I just discovered I've max leveled up! What's This Feature? Worse, when I hit the max level I wasn't given any warning. I'd have maxed out my lockpick skills, those temp locksmith magazines are hard to find.

Takes quite a bit away when I realize I can't level up anymore. Not to mention the locks I can't get by due to my level 85 lockpick skill.

That said, I'm lovin this game. I realize I came to it 3 years late, but I only have so many hours in a day to play games. I have a list, and Fallout New Vegas finally got to the top.

Do you have any of the DLC? Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road each raise the level cap by 5.

Its kinda your own fault really. The game is about choices and consequences. You have to live with your decisions, even if they cause you to miss out on something.

Lol sorry but.. you hit level 50 and don't have your locksmith up to max? erm how?
I mean, unless you have stupidly low INT (excuse the pun) you should have basically all your skills maxed (and since most complain that this makes it too easy - hence the option of logans loophole as a trait - I don't really get why you think you should 'get something' for it...) unless you've been putting some in like energy weapons though youre doing a guns build or something like that..

Be glad it's not Fallout 3; I remember feeling much the same way when I stopped getting experience with half the map left to explore at level twenty.

The dLCs raise your level cap by 5 for each one you get(buy one and you can get to level 35, buy two and it's level 40, etc), and are also really good, so get them. You may also find the game fun enough to keep exploring even once you've hit the cap; I know I do!

No DLC, still doing the original game. Level 50? I maxed out at level 30. Didn't realize it until a day or two later when I was looking at my stats and saw something like "XP at max", and realized I hadn't seen any XP updates in a while.

I'm perfectly happy with my decisions and their consequences. Outside of maxing out my XP too soon things are good.

I should mention I'm one of those idiots that avoids all internet FAQs on a game. I wanna play it on my own, thankyewvurymuch. Hitting max XP on level 30, nowhere near the end of the game, is a bit of a surprise.

I'm the same. I don't look at guides unless I think I hit a quest glitch. The argument "it's your fault for not reading online guides on how to min/max before you start playing" is rather silly.
