On hit weapon enchants

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 1:31 am

Any info out on this yet?

Personally hoping we don't have to go through the tedium of recharging them w/soul gems. Would rather the power of the enchant be a set amount maybe still depending on the size/material of the weapon but not using charges.

Thoughts?

Charge it with a spell.

Picture this. Your enemy is coming at you, your health is low. One last chance. Gathering all your Magicka, you send a shockwave into your blade, and thrust. The jolt from the blade Flails your opponent yards away, dead before he hits the ground. A smoldering carcus, foolish enough to think he had you beat.

Seen a lot of people complaining about this, and don't understand why it upsets so many. Seems similar to using ammo in a shooter, except you have to open the inventory. Could someone please explain why this is such a hardship?

Its the tedioum of having to capture soulds freqenty, or only have an encahntment last halfway through a dungeon. YOu weapons essentially need batteriest to function fully and it really takes it out of the game if after every second fight yo uhave ot stop and use a soul gem ot top up the sword charge.

Eloquently put, however it's far more straightforward when you play a game. :P Low health, you click fast, you kill the opponent, and you move on.

I know, I drag it out a bit. But use "Charge weapon -- Fire" Spell. Drains mana for a period of time, or sipes it with each hit to the enemy.

Just bring it back to what it was in Morrowind where enchantments would recharge themselves :P

If so then it can be less tedious by automating the process, like the ammo.

So they can introduce a system, an option, for the players to define if the charge of the current weapon depletes, use a soul gem that can fill it up without much overcharge, and the engine should do that, and inform the player whenever this happens, by a message or an extra player animation and and a sound, just like the current shooters.

That solves the tedium problem. ;D

I'd prefer the weapon recharging by itself, I never used enchanted weapons like this in OB because I hate relying on other items for my weapon to actually work.
