Hmmm... What to do...

Due to the amount of bugs and graphical glitches I have been having in Skyrim, I figured I'd play around with Morrowind a bit until a patch comes out (or the construction set so that the modding community can do Bethesda's job for them).

Anyway, it has been quite some time since I last played this game so I am trying to decide on a character build, I know it's going to be a Dark Elf with focus on Magic, the skills I have down to put in so far are : Long Blade, Block, Medium Armor, Destruction and Restoration. Not sure what the other skills should be, I'll probably do Illusion to make up for the lack of Sneak. I can't remember which skill did the lock opening spells... Or if that is a different game I am thinking of O_o

Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (As well as placements for the skills, ex: Long Blade, Destruction, Restoration and Medium Armor in Major. Block, Illusion so on so forth in Minor.)

I'd definitely pick another weapon Skill, maybe Short Blade.
Enchant, Alchemy and Conjuration will help you get Intelligence multipliers to give you more magicka.

Alteration is the Skill that has the open/unlock spell.
And I always take Armorer, it's one of the most handy Skills.

I would suggest Block as a Major Skill, not Minor... because it levels really slow but it's a great Skill to have. Depends on how much melee you'll be doing, or if you'll be relying more on magic.

You don′t consider Marksman at all? I think at higher skill levels it′s great

Generally I do have Marksmen on my characters. But considering I have gotten that maxed on multiple characters before, I want to try something that isn't Marksmen lol

Alchemy's a thought. It'll help make things more interesting for you as you look for stuff to harvest, buy and sell, plus potions give you handy spells in battle without the need for magicka. An alchemy-interested Dark Elf seems very appropriate in Morrowind, given their interest in the land.
