I am planning to pre-order Brink from Wal-Mart just for the Hockler Machine Pistol, but I just want to know; can it be used for both factions? Or just Security?

I'm wondering this because in the ad graphic for the pre-order it shows the weapon as a Security weapon.

Someone had a source that confirmed all weapons are available for both factions. I think it was a Twitter post, but I'm not sure.

I know I've seen this answered before, and I know a source was referenced, so I'll go with that. Same goes for the Caesar Revolver - there's a shiny Security version too.

I got mine on Steam. Still get the Spec Ops pack, but will for sure be able to get it day 1.

Just to clear stuff up for your guys. The two pre-order guns that you can get (Wal-mart and Amazon) are not "exclusive", they're day 1 use weapons. The weapons are, in fact, in the regular game. You just unlock them at level 1 instead of later on.

Wal Mart has guaranteed release date delivery and $0.97 shipping. Amazon has the exact same, but with more expensive shipping. I'm putting my faith in Wal-Mart. Sure, they're a huge, greedy bully of a corporation, and I hate to support them, but they're the only place I have any faith in at this point. Amazon wont accept my card, Best Buy are the least reliable pre-orderers in the universe, and Gamestop don't do delivery. And i don't like Doom that much.

Woohoo!!! That's nice to know. I thought I was going to miss out on the 2 guns. Although I think it would be a fun challenge to pick up those guns from dead enemies and use them.

Meaning the pre-orders AREN'T just for day 1 access, and ARE exclusives.

So you'll still get to have your fun stealing them.

Hm,now u got me thinking a bit but...i really trust Devs on balancing issues,u think it's going to be that much unbalanced if so?

If you know you're going to lose a fight, and can just switch to a weapon your enemy can't pick up so they run out of ammo faster, then of course it's going to be unbalanced.

Until you said it wasn't the case, I was assuming that because you can pick up other weapons, you'll be able to pick up ANY weapon your enemy has equipped. Even the pre-order ones you don't have.

Lights seeing a heavy come around the corner when they have no decent movement options will have time to switch. So will highly competitive players. Doesn't help that both pre-order weapons are sidearms, which means fast equip speed.
