Hold more weapons.

This seems like the right forum for this.

Anyone else feel that Crysis 2 would benefit greatly from a weapon system that allows access to all weapons at all times? I know this might have balance issues, but at the same time it almost feels like this game was built with that, and then it was thrown away last second. There seems to be a lot of options through the campaign, but at the same time stealth seems almost necessary through a lot of sections, simply because you wouldn't have enough fire power other wise. I think being able to snipe a few dudes, run down and use the assault rifle on some, and then shotgun the stragglers would encourage a lot more flexibility, since you don't have to choose what weapons you take into a scenario, you could change on the fly and add to the open ended gameplay. I dont think this would be able to be done in a patch, so Im just seeing if others agree with me.

360 player who never played Crysis 1 in case anyone was wondering.

I don't think that carrying all weapons is fair at all. Plus, as bad as this sounds, it's unrealistic. Being able to change attachments and Nanosuit modules in-game like in campaign would seem correct. The whole "adapt to any situation" thing. But I agree with you to an extent.

I agree with AshtonJohnFox, its not realistic that you can carry a lot of weapons (or a lot of ammo). When you can carry only a limited number of weapons, you're also obliged to plan ahead. This makes the game more fun.

Or just a copy of real life... Most soldiers do not carry more than a rifle and a sidearm... Old school FPS player here, there were plenty of earlier shooters where this was the case too.

But anyway, back on topic isn't this what the Loadout pro module is for?

Since we seem to be talking campaign, couldn't you put an assault scope on a SCARAB, set it to semi-auto and snipe with it (if you're against humans, against the Ceph you probably would need a DSG-1/Gauss) then swap the semi-auto attachment for an underbarrel shotgun and proceed to use the SCARAB full auto and switch to the underbarrel when you need it.

i would prefer to be able to change attachements as needed. of course there should be some limit.

but i would like to be able to switch between two scopes and two attachements. and remove the Silencer as i desire.

as to CODdyness:

COD allows 2 weapons, and an explosive. each weapon can have a max of 2 attachements (with Bling) and each sidearm can have 2 attachements.

you have 3 perks and a Deathstreak.

Crysis has:

-Scopes
-Barrel attachements
Underbarrel attachements
-the same for side-arms,
-you can pick explosives
-you can choose a wide array of powers for 3 aspects of your suit.

in COD, you need Bling to get both a scope and some other attachement. Crysis 2 has - so far- the most modification options.
