Hey! I'm having that problem right now. I have both Fable 3 and Fallout NV and I haven't played more than 2 hours into either of them..(maybe more with FO)..and that was in October, haven't touched them sense..I want to but at the same time I don't really want to play them. I'm hoping I get around to it eventually though. Hopefully I don't do the same thing with Two Worlds II.

LE EDIT: I'm glad to see a lot of people are like me in this issue haha. See the big problem is I really want to go to Gamestop and load up on used games when I get my tax return, used/new really. But I know that I won't play any of them. Because the last time I did that, I came home with 6 games that I haven't played more than 2 hours into. In fact, the only games I've played longer than 8 hours total since I've bought them are some of the Guitar Hero games I have and Black Ops..besides them, it's been about 6 months since I've played any of them 8-9 other games I purchased. If it wasn't for Sacred 2, we could go back to almost a year.

Well let's see

About the time I got Dragon Age I got FFXIII

I got Dragon Age first but when I got FFXIII I put off Dragon Age to play FFXIII. I didn't play Dragon Age again until after I beat FFXIII.

Essentially the only time I put of games is when I have another game I want to play instead

Never happened to me. I try to play games I've gotten within a five day range of when I've gotten them.

One theory I have as to why I haven't played some of my games is that I'm not really an RTS guy or even a hardcoe FPS gamer; I'm primarily an RPG gamer. The older I get, the more I realize I don't have to be a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to gaming. For example, I enjoyed "Syberia" 1 and 2 a lot but I can't seem to work up enough interest to install the "Longest Journey" sequel -- I'm not a hardcoe Adventure gamer. But eventually I'm going to try to install that one plus some others that I've accumulated, such as "Psychonauts".

Play it, it's a lot of fun. And the main storyline doesn't take very long anyway.

I got a few games lying on the shelf too.

Games I have tried a little, but never finished:
- Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow ('rage quit' after I couldn't reload my gun. Probably a bug or something)
- Myst V (I couldn't pay attention to what that guy said in the beginning because I was staring at the physics of his robes xD)
- Need for Speed Shift (I'm not too keen on racing games)
- Ceville
- Morrowind (still haven't found the right mods to make the game aesthetically pleasing)

Games I haven't tried at all:
- Assassin's Creed
- The Orange Box
- Mirror's Edge
- Prince of Persia The Two Thrones
- Splinter Cell Conviction
- The Witcher
- Hitman Contracts
- Prototype

but I can't seem to work up enough interest to install the "Longest Journey" sequel -- I'm not a hardcoe Adventure gamer. But eventually I'm going to try to install that one plus some others that I've accumulated, such as "Psychonauts".

Dreamfall isn't as long or hard (you perverts :P) as The Longest Journey. It's still worth your time, though.

I usually try and play them when I purchase them at least for the night once I get them. Alot of times I end up hooked for awhile on them but if I do not finish right away I am not overly stressed about it.

No. Every game I buy I install and play (or at least try it) until the very end. The most recent one I quit was dead space. Never finished it

yeah i felt burned on that one. doesnt even hold a candle to penumbra and amnesia in scariness yet they were running around claiming it was he scariest thing since centipedes..........what a borefest.

my problem isnt so much games its mods for games that i never get around to installing and playing. i have 3 mods for stalker CoP that i have to try out yet, i had a [censored]load of mods for oblivion that i downloaded and never tried out before i uninstalled oblivion and deleted my mods folder. i have couple of mods for star wars empire at war, some half life 2 mods that i completely forgot i even had until a couple days ago when i was searching my computer files for crap to delete. lots of fallout 3 and fallout NV mods i havent had a chance to try out. etc. i honestly cant think of any major games that i played recently with the exception of far cry 2 and crysis that i didnt mod to some degree.

@alaisiaisfagaefaefa..........whatever. :) there is a new version of vampire bloodlines clan quest coming out very soon. i cant scream from a mountain top loudly enough about bloodlines. it has some of the crappiest melee combat i have ever seen although the patches and mods have fixed up the ranged a bit, and yet it is one of the most engrossing games i have ever played. play vanilla with unofficial patch first and then play it through again with the vampire clan quest mod since ti adds new quests.

also BG 1 and 2 were awesome. arcanum was really good as well especially if you play as a "special" person. :)

I used to stay with a game until I finished but now I got lots of games I never even played. I'm not going to force myself to play through them anymore, just play when I really want to.

I have played Planescape Torment and the Baldur's Gate games several times but I still haven't properly started any of the Icewind Dale games.

You should give Icewind Dale 1 and 2 a try. I missed the NPC interaction, since you create your party of adventurers rather than run across them in the game, but Icewind Dale's levels are interesting.

For Alaisiagae: I hope you can play those games someday. You have a lot of classics on that list.

I have a couple that I've started but haven't yet finished... I think the only game that I've totally ignored is Far Cry, but I'll get around to it eventually.

This is the thread where I link to http://backloggery.com/games.php?user=tyraarane and then slink away in shame, right? :P

Yeah, my trouble is that I pick up a lot of games that I want during sales (Steam/GoG or otherwise)--when they're cheap, but not necessarily when I have time to play them. Or want to play them, for that matter. The trouble is that then some of said games get thoroughly buried in the epic backlog and then sit there for years and years, staring at me with tiny, accusing eyes. Like, say, The Dig. That one's been on my "to play" shelf since...2003? 2004? I think. Somewhere around there.

Some games have a better turnaround time, though. It only took me a year and a half to get to Assassin's Creed!
