I have about 20 games that I haven't even touched besides testing if they work, many of which are 10+ years old. I keep buying new ones though.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade is the latest.

Well I bought games, played them a bit, and held them off to be played later. Does that count?
Now that my son is older, at least some of these games gets played now and not sitting on
the shelf.

Happens to me all the time. I bought Sly Cooper last week, but only popped in the disc this evening to play it. I have some games I purchased a year ago that I haven't played yet.

No. Every game I buy I install and play (or at least try it) until the very end. The most recent one I quit was dead space. Never finished it

Oh yes, I have plenty. The problem with Steam sales is I'll buy games and just add them to my ever-growing backlog. Some games I haven't played yet, or have barely played, are:

Hidden and Dangerous 2
Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto 2
Grand Theft Auto III
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Grand Theft Atuo San Andreas
Penumbra Overture
Gothic 3
Gothic II: Gold Edition
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
Hitman: Blood Money
Red Faction: Guerilla
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat
Thief
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
The Witcher

And with every Steam sale it gets larger and larger.

Yes, that's happened to me quite often, especially over the last few years. But usually it's because the game I bought was either an impulse buy or one that I was kind of "eh, the first was ok, sequel could be good". Or if it was a cheapie old game I've heard was great and finally GoG has it and so I get it but then....

If it's a game I've been wanting/waiting eagerly for, that svcker gets bought first day, unwrapped, installed, and played for a couple days until I either decide I don't like it and quit, or decide I love it and it takes over my whole life for a few months...

Not particularly as I try to complete each game, or at least let them run their course before I get a new one. But, I will say this: I can, and have, bought games on release day, and not touched them for nearly a week. The reason for this is that I'd much rather put it in knowing I have time to enjoy it, rather than shut it off an hour later because I have to work in the am. This, (and the "new game smell") are the reasons I will rue the day when they stop packaging instruction manuals with games. It gives me something to look over and enjoy, and builds anticipation for said game.

Have I ever? I doubled my Steam collection this Christmas sale season. There are games in there I may never even get to play.

*sniffle* I can't play the games I want to play! I have TES: Oblivion, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: SoC and CoP, can't download them cause I'm forbidden from downloading them at home and there is nowhere else I can download. Free WiFi places have ridiculously small data caps. My friend's letting me use his dial up though but that ain't getting me far.
Shadow of Chernobyl is about halfway downloaded...I accidenally downloaded about 1.5 gig at home. That got me in [censored].
I just wanna play my new games dammit!

PLAY IT!!

I tried, however I have some sort of problem where when it starts up it just goes to a black screen and I have to restart my computer. I've been meaning to go to the Steam forums and find the problem, however the fact that I have to restart my computer to get away from the black screen every time means that I have to wait until a time when I'm not doing at least one other thing on the computer, and that happens very rarely.

I have 100s of games on Steam but I've only played about 80, many for not very long, finished even less.

ROFLMFAO! That sounds so much like me, that I read it out loud to my wife and she was like "Is that what you posted?"

Sadly enough, I'm pretty sure I have closer to 30-35 unplayed games atm. I keep finding great deals on brand new, or barely used games on Ebay and then don't get around to playing them.

.... About 50+ games unplayed and piling up... I won't list them because people might start crying and having seizures.

I bought Warhawk for like ten bucks used a few months ago. I touched it once and haven't touched it since. I also bought Plants vs. Zombies two or so months ago and only touched it once. Oddly enough, I think both games are fun, but I just can't motivate myself to play them.

Don't get me started on that. Ever since I began working freelance translating, I've played so many dumb miniature pet games that I usually become unable to play anything else during the week I use for high-speed work. Then I can only play craft some mines away, that's about it. Better listen to lots of music for relaxation.
The other three weeks though, I'm fine. I manage to make a schedule for games, too. First finish game X, then get platinum trophies on Z and D. Only Minecraft between that, and the daily hours of StarCraft II. Got to keep that brain running somehow and not fill up with puppies or even weirder things.

Oh, there are many games in my possession which I would like to play but cannot.
Because I'm on a Valve binge. Can't stop.

I have a number of games that for some reason I don't feel like tackling yet, such as "Jericho" and the original "Starcraft". I'm not sure why I waited, and I'm paying the price because some of my games aren't even compatible with my PC any more.

You should play Mass Effect 2 sometime since you own it; I recently uninstalled it after playing through at least three times. In many ways they've improved the gameplay from the original (the resource gathering is better, for one example). They've gone "darker and edgier" with the series, but it's good.

The plastic seal hasn't even been opened on Freedom Fighters yet and I've had it for nearly 2 years. It took me a fair while to get the motivation to play Deus Ex too.
