Holding a Pistol sideways: yay or nay?

Post » Sat Sep 19, 2009 7:17 pm

Also, the original Ak-47 design's made it nearly impossible to fire it straight while laying down, so they had to hold it sideways. Also with a pistol if you hold it sideways you can blindfire without exposing your hands, but it makes your accuracy go down even more.

But no holding any gun sideways unless I can hold my pistols upside down.

i second that B)

Holding pistol sideways should be optional, but you have to spend points to be able to buy that, just like any other customization. Doesn't hurt anyone and doesn't change the gameplay other than people having just another thing to spend their points on.

Even has bling.

Yeah, i really don't think he cares about the way he holds his gun. There are people in the big list section with parts of their body taken form the G and they don't hold the gun sideways. I don't think they are really in it for the coolness.

Guns have recoil. The recoil can hurt you if you hold it incorrectly. If you hold a sniper rifle incorrectly, even with 2 hands, you can blow them both off from the sheer force of the rifle for example.

Well, at least I still have my arms tight, even though I've held a rifle incorrectly several times (by accident), though it was just a small hunting rifle (.338 lapua mag), considering that you clearly describe some kind of a portable piece of artillery instead of any rifle I'm aware of.

Now you are holding the gun rather awkwardly. It may not be a howitzer, but it has recoil. A revolver has a lot of recoil. You can hurt your self because the gun can bend your hand in ways it shouldn't be bent.

Keeping the hand sideways causes no more than awkward aiming angle. your wrist is basically the same way as when holding a handgun correctly, it's just that suppressing the recoil is easier vertically as you can make a better use of biceps and muscles between your wrist and elbow.

on the topic (finally:D), being able to hold your pistol sideways would be cool as resistance-only :) but then ppl should think of something for security too, as they'll kick the puny butts of poor resistance fighters... ;)

I thought so. Soul Eater is on my top 5 list.

On topic, however: I don't see how they could, realistically, put sideways pistol holding in. It would work for hip firing, sure, but ADS'ing would be very awkward (unless you had Homeboy sights :shifty: ).

And besides, I don't think it's an important enough feature to even warrant inclusion. I wouldn't want them to delay the game by another week, or even another day, just to put in that feature.

The game has lean so max lean plus 45 degrees = roughly 90 degrees from the perspective of someone watching :D

No, it wouldnt make any since for these people to hold it "wankster" style since it's an inner city american phenomenon that I havn't seen in any foreign movies. Unless of course they are making fun of america.

well you must be an expert to come to that conclusion. because bench test after bench test states other wise. it doesn't have any practical benefit but you're the expert so whatever. :mohawk:

don't go there, if your trying to argue that the recoil carries you through to the next shot .....then your wasting your time because it doesn't. just because you read some garbage on this thread stating otherwise and now you're trying to regurgitate it here, as the base in your argument.... don’t. let me tell you, if you are riding 40mph on a camel…. it didn't matter how you held the damn thing because your chances of actually hitting your target legitimately were a joke. also just because some stray shots did land, didn't mean it was a successful method for shooting the weapon period. :mohawk:

also don't tell me that the ak47 is over rated. any weapon that fires a 7.62 round with a muzzle velocity of 710 meters per second (2,300 ft/s). is a formidable weapon period. I sure as [censored], wouldn't want to be on the business end of that thing :mohawk:
