Holiday Mod Tweaking

So, I contacted Princess Stomper via PM to see if she could help me with this, and she suggested I go ahead and start a topic on it. What I am looking to do is adjust the mod slightly so that the player birthday is dependent on what Birthsign they have selected. I am aware of the reasons this was not done in the original, as many folks use custom Birthsigns in their game, but since I do not I was hoping to have that aspect tied up based off of Lore. My problem, I have no idea what I would need to adjust in order to do this, so I come to all of you for help.

Indeed, that would be the mod, and it does exactly as you have stated, adds in Lore accurate holidays to the game - a la Daggerfall

Well I only started playing Morrowind last April. hehe Prior to that it was just Daggerfall.

No worries, and I do suggest the mod if you have played the prior game, to get a little of the feel back from that. Certainly fantastic work - perfect (for me personally) if I can manage to find out how to do this little tweak (assuming it is little).

Just a little bit of a nudge to see if anyone has some advice, probably going to be working on getting MW installed again this coming week, and I would like to address this little tweak first.

I don't even understand what you're trying to do. Say my character's birthday is Morning Star 1st. What do you want the mod to do on that day?

I want the birthday you are given to be dependant on the Birthsign that you select, as (much like in reality), the star signs are tied to different months and so forth. Currently, the mod does this at random, because many people use Birthsign mods which would cause a conflict - so, the randomness avoids this conflict. As I use all stock Birthsigns in my game, I would like it to be accurately tied. My offhand guess is that it is some kind of script that needs adjusted, but I am not sure what one or how it would need to be adjusted (still learning scripting).

In essence, I am looking for advise on this task (though want to make the changes myself to become more familiar with doing so again, as I was getting to that point with both my own projects before my PC died and I was away long enough to forget many essentials).

Been a long minute, wanted to bump this one more time (since I am still being lazy on getting around to my install), and see if anyone knows what would need to be adjusted to accomplish this task :whistling:

I think it would just take adding some birthsign detection to the start of the doOnce block in the start script "a1jw_thm_Monthfix". To detect birthsign, maybe you could check for spelleffects/spells (maybe there is a better way?), and then fall back on the original random selection if your detector fails.
